茱莉亞河營地旅館(Julia's River Camp)

He llegado hace pocos días de mi viaje con Kananga a Kenia, Tanzania y Zanzibar. En Masai Mara Parque Nacional nos quedamos en Julia's river Camp. Este campamento esta al lado del rio Talek que estaba llenos de hipopótamos. En este campamento nos sentimos protegidos ya que había vigilantes dia y noche. Estábamos en el medio del parque nacional Masai Mara. Las tiendas estaban limpias y sin mosquitos. Las camas cómodas. Es difícil escoger lo que me gusto mas en este viaje ya que todo fue maravilloso. Me encanto la Reserva Masai Mara, cuando ibamos en el camion o 4x4 buscando los 5 grandes. Cuando vimos al rinoceronte tan cerca de nuestro camion que no podíamos creérnoslo. Cuando vimos a las zebras cerca del rio Mara que estaba lleno de cocodrilos. Cuando fuimos en el globo y vimos un magnifico amanecer y muchos animales. Cuando fuimos en bicicleta a un poblado Masai. Es imposible mencionar todos los momentos especiales que vivi en este viaje. Quiero agradecer a todo el personal de Kananga por el buen trabajo y especialmente a nuestro guía Jeronimo. Este viaje no hubiera sido lo mismo sin el. Su amor por África, su conocimiento y la pasión por su trabajo, hicieron que me enamorara de África. Debido a estas experiencias, espero volver a viajar con Kananaga.

Avons séjourné 3 nuits sur ce camp pour visiter le Masai Mara. Tentes sont très corrects. L'environnement est superbe avec la rivière fréquenté par buffles, hippo, babouins, hyènes, girafe a proximité... Les nuits resteront inoubliables avec la faune environnante. Personnel très serviable. Restaurant est bon. Le camp organise aussi vos sorties dans le parc

Hébergement très authentique au milieu du parc MASAI MARA et au bord d'un cour d'eau , au bord duquelse promènent éléphants girafes hippopotames etc... Tente confortable même si équipement basique , eau chaude matin et soir grac à un système de chauffage très astucieux . serve à table un peu laborieux , manque d'expérience du personnel .

Situé en plein coeur du Masai Mara au bord d une rivière ou le matin on peut y voir les hippopotames descendre et la nuit on peut entendre rugir les lions car c est un camp ouvert sans cloture. Par contre les tentes sont spartiates, elles seraient à rénover, c est limite sinistre avec un lavabo sur lequel il ne faut pas trop s appuyer et des wc en pente, tout risque de tomber et nous étions en vip!! Ceci est compensé par le cadre, la gentillesse du personnel et la restauration qui est bonne ( au choix un plat avec viande et un plat végétarien qui est excellent)

We have just stayed here for 3 nights as part of our month long Kenyan self drive. We are hardened African Safari guys, who have done ground tents in remote locations with no water (and dig your own toilet) to similar camps like this so not writing as novices. Having read some of the great reviews before booking, we had high hopes for this place - unfortunately we were disappointed. Whilst the camp is in a truly great location on the Talek River that’s where the word great ends. There’s a big difference between eco /authentic and dirty and forgotten! For starters it isn’t actually in the park despite their assurances it is - it isn’t!!!! The Talek Gate is a good 35 minute drive away or it’s a 2 hour drive out past the airstrip where you can cross the river into the park. Chairs around fire are old and torn. Cleanliness is generally lacking throughout the camp - see pics. Whilst the staff are really friendly and helpful, there’s a lack of supervision or management I feel that means there’s more listening to mobiles than cleaning etc. Food was average to very poor and the first nights dinner was freezing cold! They don’t cook the food at Buffalo Camp so it’s brought over from another camp so this probably explains the coldness. Tents are outdated, look old and tatty and you can’t lock. Beds are small and sheets and pillows were dirty. Basics like hand soap bottles by the hand basin were dirty and empty. We had no cold water in the shower so it was scalding and we had to use bottles of cold water to rinse down. Toilets don’t appear to be fixed to anything so when you sit down they almost fall over - it’s all a bit cheaply done. Cracked toilet seats and generally dirty bathrooms aren’t a great look for over £300 per night. Loud music and general noise from staff quarters isn’t in keeping with the signs around the camp asking guests to keep their voices down and isn’t great when you are trying to relax on the balcony! Also staff listening to stuff on their phones whilst you are eating breakfast and trying to enjoy the views is particularly annoying. We’ve stayed at numerous similar camps and lodges over the years and most are half the price of Julia’s and a whole lot better. Someone’s making a lot of money for nothing sitting in Barcelona. Disappointing considering the high price charged.

en plein coeur du Masaï Mara parfait pour visiter la réserve les animaux sont tout proches et le calme et la quiétude permettent une communion totale avec la nature le personnel est au petit soin et très acceuillant un grand merci à Andrew pour sa gentillesse et son sourire,et pour l' apéritif idans la Masaï Mara au coucher du soleil les tentes sont confortables bonne literie la douche est une vrai douche de brousse l'immersion est totale avec les hippopotames en contre bas dans la rivière et la visite la nuit des buffles autour des tentes qui nous a valu une bonne frayeur car ils sont assez bruyants et vraiment à coté de la tente!! la nourriture est simple mais bonne pas de prise dans les tentes mais possiblité de recharger dans la tente principale où sont servis les repas car il y a plusieurs multiprises

Eine wunderbare Erfahrung - sehr Natur bezogen - mitten in der Masai Mara. Perfekte Unterkunft direkt am Fluß nicht nur sehr sauber und ordentlich, sondern auch geschmackvoll und dezent dank der verwendeten Naturmaterialien. Die Vollverpflegung war abwechslungsreich und lecker! Das Personal - ua. George und Rhoda waren immer present, ebenso wie der Manager Obadiah. Und natürlich unser Askari Nick - immer erfolgreich bemüht das wir ein Highlight nach dem anderen zu sehen bekommen - einfach traumhaft schön ! Wir kommen wieder!

During our safari we stayed in lots of camps, but this one was definitely the best. The view from our accomodation was amazing and the staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. Daniel in particular stood out as he was so lovely and talking to him at dinner made meals extra special. There was also another member of staff who was amazing as he was always more than eager to show us where the hippos were at around the camp. The only downside was the food, unfortunately they don't seem to be able to cook traditional African food which was highly disappointing as it was one of the things I was most looking forward to when coming to Kenya.
