Horizon Eco Resort

We dropped in to eat multiple times at the restaurant here, for both lunch and dinner. Food is top-notch, really fresh and delicious, using local fish and veg as well as produce brought in regularly by boat. All with the most gorgeous Thai flavors. Cocktails are made to high standards, and the ice-cold fresh coconut drink is just what you need on a hot day. A warm welcome from Lori and her delightful staff—highly recommended.

Der Erstbezug des Familienunterkunft war uns eine Ehre und wir haben auf der großzügigen Terrasse mit Allen eine wunderbare Zeit gehabt. Wir kommen wieder und können diesen Ort Allen, die entspannte Ruhe genießen möchten, wärmsten empfehlen.

We had such a wonderful 2 weeks with Lory and her lovely team at Horizon. The accommodation was exactly as we hoped it would be - traditional Thai bungalows with a small balcony area at the front. Mozzie net over the bed, a fan (electricity from approx 7pm to 7am) and bathroom with a cold shower (who needs a hot one in Thailand!). Spotlessly clean and magically re-cleaned every 4 days or so with fresh bed linen and towels. Lory is what makes this place special and you can see that she and her husband have built a lovely team around them. Et and the lads bringing our food in the restaurant, determined to teach us the Thai words for everything! And Lory moving around the restaurant, swopping effortlessly between the 5 languages she speaks as she checks in with everyone. Lory arranged several things for us during our stay - we were able to hitch a ride to check out the turtle nests one morning when the lady from Naucrates came to visit the island. We also did a tour of a few hours to explore the ‘savannah’ area in the back of Lory’s husband’s pickup. We borrowed a kayak and went out to the little islands in the bay. The kitchen very kindly made us a ‘picnic’ of veggie rice and fruit one day when we were going to kayak to the top of the island. Lory also arranged our onward travel - the longtail back to the mainland, a taxi to the bus station, as well as the bus tickets on to our next destination. On an island where there’s no ATM, no high street, no shops, nothing, you really do depend on the people you are staying with. Thank you Lory for making our stay with you so very special. For a long time to come, we are going to be imagining we’re back on the beach as the sun goes down in front of Horizon.

We stayed here for almost a week and really grew to love it. Firstly it’s much more rough than the other resorts on the beach which are a bit more fancier and modern. Which I don’t mind. I like both rough and modern. The rooms were ok, I liked the second room (a bigger one) than the smaller ones. It was just nicer. All beds are fitted with mosquito nets and electricity is off everyday until 6pm through to the next morning. Gives you some time away from your phone and to just experience things. Wi-Fi works mostly at the restaurant, near the beach. Sometimes it goes in and out. Bathrooms in the huts are open plan, water is below lukewarm temperature which is great in such hot weather. But beware hornets attacking you whilst on the toilet lol which happened to me. But the view is simply stunning. To experience something like that is a must. The staff at the resort were amazing, from the owner to the waiters and help. Simply amazing and lovely, attentive and friendly. Would honestly come back just to see them. We loved the food there too, I was particularly keen on the massaman curry, which I’d never tried before and had every single night. Vegans are well accommodated, we had options every night. Although I stuck to the same thing there were a lot of options to choose from. There was a lot to do being at this resort. We explored the beach, went to another island and met the most wonderful family that lived there and gave us a jungle tour. We were the only ones on that island and it was simply incredible. We had a delicious lunch made from fresh ingredients from the jungle. We kayaked, swam, stargazed and watched lightening from miles away. Such a breathtaking experience. I would do this all over again, even the being attacked by a the hornet wasp lol. So glad I got to experience it

Notre séjour à été merveilleux ! L'accueil est chaleureux (nous embrassons Nok !) La plage est preservé et l'eau y est délicieuse ! Vous serez presque seul au monde dans ce coin de paradis ! Un endroit pour vous ressourcer, pour le calme, les paysages et les tortues, que nous avons eu la chance d'apercevoir. Merci à l'équipe pour ce super moment ! Nous rêvons de revenir !

As a solo traveler good communication is very important to my comfort and owner/operator Lory Follador provides that! Located on an island near Kuraburi with no scheduled boat service I was trusting that our arrangements would go smoothly....and they did. This was my second trip to Horizon Eco Bungalows. Both times my ride from Phuket was waiting for me at the arranged time with a sign clearly identifying himself to me with clean, reliable, comfortable transportation. Each time the long tail boat was waiting for me at Kuraburi pier to take me to the island. I love the location, steps from the warm bay, sandy beaches and beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The restaurant is right on the beach and seems to encourage friendly, casual conversation among the international guests. The food is really outstanding! Delicious! My bungalow was all I needed. Electricity from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Electricity available at the restaurant throughout the day if necessary. Lory is a natural host, familiar with Koh Phra Thong for many years and happy to recommend how and when we might enjoy the beauty and variety of the island. Snorkeling, beach walks, kayak the mangrove, explore the savannah, catch the sunrises and sunsets accompanied by the cicada chorus. Lory is fluent in 5 languages that I heard so is absolutely able to help with any needs! I highly recommend Horizon Eco as a place to reconnect with the rhythm of the earth, to be a part of nature and be fed sumptuously. A winning combination!! And Lory will help it all go smoothly! What can I say, it was the perfect stay, on such a lovely island. We loved the location, the attention to detail and the excellent service we received from Lori and her team. The food was delicious and made to our requests. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, we had a lovely balcony with comfortable seating, such a great place to relax. I would recommend this resort , as the perfect stay, for families, couples and solo travelers. Thank you so much.

Such an amazing place. Much has been said about how wonderful the experience at Horizon Eco Lodge is and it is all true! Beautiful and calm beaches, nice bungalows and a familiar and friendly atmosphere at Horizon. The food is simply superbe. We highly recommend it!

Great food, very lovely staff and an attentive owner. We dined here twice whilst staying in a neighbouring hotel. Food was excellent, busy buzzy atmosphere and delicious Mojitos, they deserve to be full which they were on both occasions! Would definitely come back and recommend
