Das Teniqua Treetops, im Regenwald oberhalb von Sedgefield, kann ich für all diejenigen Empfehlen die mal etwas Außergewöhnliches zum Übernachten suchen. Dort stehen 8 verschiedene Baumhäuser zur Auswahl, die vom Regenwald umgeben sind. Es sind alles Selbstverpflegungsunterkünfte. Es werden aber auch komplett zusammengestellte Essenspakete angeboten, die dann noch selbst fertig gekocht/gegrillt werden müssen. Auch für Familien mit Kindern könnte ich mir vorstellen, dass ein Baumhaus eine spannende Sache ist. Spielplatz und Pool ist auch vorhanden. Auch eine voll lizenzierte Bar, die nur für die Gäste vorgesehen ist, ist vorhanden. Ich hatte das Baumhaus „George View“, was einen tollen Blick über die Schlucht und den Regenwald hat.

One of the best getaways we've ever had. What an awesome setting. The movie Avatar comes to mind. Everything is laid on - only need to bring your food and toothbrush. We woke up to find two louries outside, with their tufted heads. Then did an hour's sheltered forest walk before it got too hot. Well maintained pathways and clearly signposted. Next day, down to the rock pool. Another beautiful and peaceful setting. It's a must. But be warned, it's very steep so coming back up will test your fitness level. Private sandy beach. Fresh river water pool overlooked by a wall of trees and a series of caves. Stunning. Back on deck the Loerie came to check if there were any crumbs lying around and happy to pose for photos. We'll be back.

What a lovely place this is. We stayed in the Lourie cabin, a charming wood structure with a private sunken deck overlooking the forest, a romantic bath with windows also facing the forest, a very comfy bed with a mosquito and towels cunningly folded to resemble swans, and a nice little kitchen. The walk to the rock pools through lush forest is steep but short and well worth the effort. Overall, it was perfect.
