Service was great location was perfect and the friendliest staff I’ve ever dealt with . I Would recommend a stay at Shirley’s Retreat any day of the week. Have fun, relax and enjoy the city life all in one.

Good hotel option. There wasn’t much to do outside of sleeping. We had kids so they were bored. I loved that they had 24 hr security who manned the gate. Great location in the middle of the city.

This was a very intimate property, no loud crowds the staff was very very kind and helpful to all of our needs. It’s tucked away on a very quiet block, there is some construction next door you don’t really hear the noise that much in the morning. The location was perfect, walking distance to the bob marley museum and a 2 minute cab ride to Devon house which has amazing ice cream. This hotel is a must stay if you plan on visiting Kingston, will definitely return here.

The location wasn't bad n the front desk is always occupied with a person which is good. All the staff were friendly. As for the rooms the sheets were dirty, the bathroom sink n tub was really filthy n u could c the ring around the tub n in the toilet. Maybe for a single person who is tryna chill for a few days n do not mind but not for u n ur family at all.

For my trip purposes it was just about the right place affordable quiet bed confortable within minutes to the US embassy, TGIF resturant just around the corner and Devons house park within 10min walking distance embassy within 10min taxi.

It's like staying in someone's guest room. It's basic but comfortable for a night's stay. Don't miss the breakfast in the morning! Miss Mauva's cooking is top-class.

The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the position of the AC in the room was an issue. I kept having to turn it off and on because it was blowing directly on one of the beds and could not be adjusted. The iron we were given did not work properly. I had to hold the cord for it to stay on. There were two lights in the bathroom, one of the sockets was stuffed with tissue.

Cons: Construction is happening next door so it was very loud until after 5pm. The older lady at the front desk speak to you as if your a child, when the cleaners were cleaning they slammed the doors over and over, no accessible washing facilities, restaurant closes early if they don’t have a crowd. Pros: Property is well kept, and is located near by food places, the short guy who keeps the gate was so nice. Worth the price!

Limited toiletries. No shampoo and conditioner. Only soap is available. I suggest they message the customers to bring their own toiletries as they don’t provide them. Overall, it’s safe, quiet and the staffs are nice.

My mom and I stayed at the Shirley Retreat hotel for her birthday and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and nice to us. They truly made our stay there extremely pleasant. The hotel room was very immaculate and cozy. These rooms have everything needed for an enjoyable stay although a small fridge could be something added in the future for an even better experience. The hotel is located in a very peaceful area with easy access to public transportation, nice restaurants, malls, shops and places for fun activities. Overall, my mom and I were extremely satisfied and we would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to visit the beautiful island of Jamaica in the future.

I loved my stay here, the staff were very friendly and the property was very clean. My stay was a bit noisy as there was construction next door (no fault of theirs). The property was a bit old and the pillows needed to be changed, would i return? Definitely!!

My only problem was the A/C directly over the bed and blowing in my face. The breakfast was real authentic Jamaican, especially the national dish... ackee and saltfish.... loved it. And -- the young female server was very polite and friendly too! Have recommended it to my friends and family. It fits what I need when I visit Kingston... location, A/C and hot water. Will definitely stay there again

The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for anyone wanting somewhere safe and convenient in Kingston. The breakfast menu is second to none, and freshly prepared each day. Ideal comfortable base for anyone in the capital city.

We wanted to stay somewhere close to the US embassy and this place’s location was perfect. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us. The property is in average condition but the room has what one needs for a quick stay.
