Governor's Residence

Thank you so very much to the amazing team at this beautiful property for making my stay unforgettable. The rooms, gardens and public areas are tastefully designed and invite you to stay longer. There is a feeling of calmness present everywhere. The staff also deserves praise, they are simply outstanding. Lastly I have to mention the meals. Oh my, the chef is a magician!! I stayed for almost a week and every single meal was delicious. My favourite was the home made spinach soup. I have stayed at many different places in Kigali over the years, this guesthouse is by far my number 1, without a doubt. Thank you to everyone for making my stay memorable, I will be back!

Governor's Residence is a haven to escape busy Kigali and enjoy the fantastic quiet view over the city. Every day we were longing for getting back to the peacefulness of the place. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. They just appeared out of nowhere when we were needing them.

We recently spent time at the Governor’s Residence in Kigali on our way back home after three weeks working and traveling in Rwanda and Kenya. We were able to celebrate my birthday here and rest and just unwind. What a beautiful property with a lovely pool and beautiful landscaping. We stayed in the large suite off of the lobby and the room was just beautiful. We had more space than we could use, with every amenity. We wish we could have stayed longer. The best part of the stay was the friendly and professional staff. We came in at 200 am and the staff was waiting and accommodating even at the late hour. The food and service in the restaurant was just outstanding. The menu changed daily and we were always pleased with our choices. We also loved the bartender who was quite skilled and game to try something new. We hope this lovely, quiet escape from the big city continues pampering many more happy guests. We hope to return on our next trip to Rwanda.

My daughter and I stayed two nights, one before we went to Gorilla trek lodge and one night after. Both nights the A/C didn't work, the minibars was not stocked and not even plugged in even though the management were told I needed to refrigerate my medication and the TV's didnt work. The rooms are cute but lacking in blackout drapes and bathrooms not well organized. No shower caps. We were encouraged to have dinner early at 6PM. The chef is good. Meals nice. But as soon as we left the dinner table the manager had us settle up for the drinks we ordered, then promptly left the property. The lobby was dark. I'm not sure ANY staff were there during the night at all. No phones in the room so can't ask for help when A/C wouldn't work. We were charged $600.00 pr night for this.

Stayed here a while back and can not say enough good about this new property. The property has been renovated to high standards in a quiet Kigali neighbourhood and all the special touches of a 5 star resort have been thought of. A very comfortable sleep and great food. However the highlight of our stay was the team of employees - they did everything to make our stay exceptional. Highly recommended if staying in Kigali or just passing through
