施洛斯羅克斯堡飯店(Schloss Roxburghe)

My partner and I came to stay for a spa break and really enjoyed our stay, but the hotel could benefit from a few tweaks. Pros: - Gorgeous facilities and decor. The restaurants and spa were just fantastic and the ambience was very special - felt very modern Scottish country hotel. - Pricing of the stay and food and drinks were fair and reasonable for quality. Cons: - The temperature in the hotel was very warm, and this meant the rooms were hot and despite air con we couldn’t seem to bring the temperature down enough and it meant we didn’t sleep well. - The pillows on the bed in the rooms were awful - no shape and flat.

Visited State Room , ordered 3 coffees. 20 minutes later they arrived, one luke warm, two had to be sent back as cold. No checkback done. Went to buy £200 gift voucher from Concierge. Told I couldn’t, only online. Explained I had no printer???

I didn't know about this hotel and only booked because of an Itison voucher - I'm very glad I did! It's in a beautiful setting near Kelso in the Scottish Borders, with a modern extension attached to a historic manor house. Our bedroom was in the new part, and was beautifully decorated, complete with a modernistic four-poster bed. The new section also includes the spa which has an outdoor infinity pool accessed from inside, and heated to 30 degrees. It was an extraordinary experience to swim outside when it was raining, while enjoying the warmth. There's a tiny gym which has good equipment, but would be crowded if four people were in at the same time. The breakfast buffet is spectacular, with a chef cooking eggs to order, including omelettes. What really made this a great experience was the staff, who are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Staff great, setting beautiful, welcome just right , food…poor! Just not good. I’ve eaten better any and every where! Anaemic chicken on a mountain of lettuce, under-dressed leaves, with yesterday’s bacon, interspersed. Presentation terrible, flavour worse. The ‘you can’t go wrong burger’ was presented well, but flavourless. Why? Much potential in this hotel. Just not yet realised. A Hyatt fail, for now!

We stayed in the hotel last march and enjoyed it so much we decided to return. The Spa was amazing and we made better use of the facilities this time, and the addition of an ''egg chef'' at breakfast is a great development. We also had a whisky tasting and fire pit experience and Ryan who delivered these for us was great knowledgeable but fun and really personable. Overall we had a great stay and look forward to returning

We stayed at The Roxburgh for a special anniversary. We were not disappointed. Beautiful hotel in a great location for exploring the Scottish Borders. All of the hotel staff were friendly and sincere, no fakeness for tips! Our room was extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lots of nice little touches. We ate at Charlie's on the Saturday evening - a good selection of dishes and reasonably priced for the quality. Breakfast was equally satisfying, an excellent range available.

Our first visit but certainly not the last. A lovely hotel full of charm and character. What tends to make a hotel stand out are the staff, and in our opinion,without exception, all the staff were excellent and attentive. House keeping was also first class. The spa was very good as was the restaurant. A special mention for Philip the concierge, who is a perfect gentleman, and Naomi supervising the breakfast restaurant, she is a gem and on the ball. We will certainly make the journey north to visit again.

Lovely setting and freshly modernised hotel with original features are balanced well. We had our anniversary here and very nice but does have teething issues. The staff were nice but were struggling to keep up with maybe overstretched or not correctly coordinated. The spa are was muddy outside and the showers were not working correctly( not very powerful) the aroma sauna had no aroma.

Great experience at the driving range, Alistair Yule was very friendly and informative. We were shown how to use the track man and all the features. Good quality balls £6 for 50, contactless payment. The only way it could have been improved is if there was a coffee machine.
