Mixed feeling. Stayed one night with my family including my old mother (87 yrs). Location is good, proximity to Hozanji temple and overlooking Ikoma city. Staff is very nice and accommodating, we loved Japanese dinner at their soba restaurant. However, The facilities are very dated, there is no elevator and almost like a maze (many stairs ups and downs). Rooms are renovated with a nice view, but no small welcome snack (Japanese ryokan tradition), no towel in a toilet, a bath room is very small (a “unit bath”). No communal bath or private bath to rent, my old mother could not use the bath facility. The room was not cleaned enough (dusty) and my daughter had so many insect bites (tick). Really ask to modernize the facilities: - Elevator - Room with beds (old people can’t sleep on a floor) - A private bath facility (not unit bath) or a communal one with reserved time for each room - Amenities such as welcome snack, glasses to drink water etc.) Current room charge is too high for the standard provided. I wish to return to this place after a major change !
