Six of our family stayed at Grand Tamarind Lake on 3rd and 4th August2023. We were warmly greeted on arrival with a much-appreciated welcome drink. Our baggage was brought to the rooms after they allocated rooms on the second floor. The many trees all around made me feel close to nature. The airconditioned rooms were large and spacious measuring 6m x 5.5m. The king size bed was comfortable with clean white sheeting. Other items in the room were the fridge, overhead fan, bedside tables, tv, dressing table with mirror, safe, benches to hold our bags, a cupboard, a table and two comfortable chairs with a circular table. The veranda outside the room was quite spacious with two chairs and a table. Upper rooms were accessible by lift. The bathroom was quite spacious too with clean neat toweling. Hot water shower was most welcome after our trips into the park. Liquid soap, vanity kit, shower caps, conditioner were all available. There is no bar at the hotel. We had our meals in the spacious dining room downstairs. Each of us chose our meals from their ala-carte menu both for lunch and dinner. They provided packed breakfast for our morning visit into Yala National Park. The food was tasty and nice. The staff were helpful, courteous, friendly and attended happily to our smallest need. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Von außen betrachtet sieht das Hotel gut aus. Die Zimmer sind extrem groß und hoch, ohne jeglichen Charme. Im Badezimmer überall dicken weißer und brauner Kalk. Die Badezimmer Matten waren ausgefranst und dreckig (wurden bestimmt lange nicht gewechselt). Am oberen Fliesenrand türmte sich eine dicke Staubschicht. Im Pool waren die Fugen mit dunklem Moos übersät. Da es keine Bar gab, wurde auch im Restaurant kein Bier, keinerlei Alkohol angeboten. Zu diesem Hotel gibt es bestimmt saubere, bessere Alternativen.

L'extérieur de l'hôtel et les équipements (piscine) en jettent à l'arrivée. Voilà pour le côté positif... Les chambres sont grandes (au moins 30 M2) mais sales : traces noires sur les murs (insectes écrasés ??), matelas tâché, lit d'appoint type hôpital des années 30, mobilier plus qu'usé... Même chose dans la salle de bain : joints et pare douche crasseux, idem pour les murs carrelés, tapis de sols très sales... Passons au restaurant, qui n'en est pas un. Plutôt un réfectoire très grand, très bruyant. Cuisine très moyenne, et même une bière pour digérer 😪 En clair, un lieu à fuir et expérience à éviter.

We visited the Hotel Jan 3rd on Full Board basis, after paying the total amount via Feelo offer. However, their attitudes were so unwelcome, that they cosidered us as we've planned to stay like free of charge. Especially, MAHESHI who was at the Reception, neglected & argued with us in a rude manner. I belive she should be given more training about how she should deal with guests. I had to speak to the Feelo & on their word she had to offer us a room. On the other hand I spoke to Maheshi the day before we travelled, & she didn't even mentioned about the Feelo offer has any issue, if so I could have solved the problem before we visit there. She kept us waiting at the reception until all other guests cleared. Our room had a wet floor, one curtain was broken down, TV was out of order, some room provision such as shampoo, shower caps, Tea & sugar sachets were kept for one person only. Toilet paper roll was a used one & it was half.(We didn't use it) Restaurant staff were good as in the past. Food was nice, & delicious & there's a variety. My special thanks goes to Chef Priyantha, & Miss Sewwandi. Really appreciate your warm hospitality! I trust if Mr. Nandadewa, the former Manager was here, this type of mistakes wouldn't have happened. The hotel need renovation especially in bath rooms ( as there's leaks in some pipe lines, rusted things). Further cleaness of rooms, new drapery is essntial. Well trained & pleasant staff should be occupied at the Reception & for room service. We used to stay at Tamarind Lake when we travel Katargama each year. But with the unpleasant experience we had to face this time, we do not wish to stay here again.

I together with five Australian friends and two parents booked the hotel on 26th December. previous day evening two people got an email saying they have been transferred to a sister hotel called Okrin. Then we raised the issue, with the manager of the hotel ( Muslim gentleman ) and thereafter everyone was transferred to OKrin. The reason given was hilarious. " One guest has extended the stay" . Can we accept this joke in hospitality industry. Please note that these hotels were completely two different qualities. We didnt even get a refund for the low quality hotel we were given. Actually this was a planned trick to give business to Okrin. So be careful with this hotel management's dirtyness.

Requires more Cleaning done to this Hotel Rooms and Toilets . Toilet walls and screens are disgusting and smelly too . Seems the location is neglected and hope the Management will take steps in rectifying the drawbacks . The Food was delicious and very nice location Too .

Je n'ai pas eu la chance de connaître cet hôtel, puisque bien que réservé 6 mois à l'avance, ils m'ont annulé la veille au soir de mon arrivée. Ils m'ont proposé un autre hôtel de catégorie bien inférieure et au même prix. Lorsque je leur ai signalé, ils ont réduit le montant de 10$ et ont offert le dîner mais j'ai dû me.debrouiller pour trouver autre chose.

Unfortunately I cannot review the hotel as a guest as they cancelled our stay less than 24 hours before hand. I had booked this in May & at 8:30 the day before they messaged asking what time we would arrive which I responded to & 2 hours later I get a message to say they were over booked & cancelling out accommodation & offered a different smaller hotel with poor reviews at no extra cost!! Completely upended our plans & disgraceful trea**ent of customers, I can only assume they got offered a higher rate for our room as we had booked so early & had received a good rate. Shameful

So disappointed with our stay. Having stayed here previously we were extremely let down by the lack of upkeep with this property. Our room was disgusting. The dirty finger marks on the glass doors, the toilet paper holder, fridge handle & water marks in the mirror in the bathroom and tap faucets was evident this hadn’t been cleaned in quite awhile. Fridge wasn’t working & then our TV. To be fair the staff who came to fix them could not have been friendlier or more willing to help. Air con blowing hot air, informed one of the staff who explained to us we had to put it to 16 for it to work, however our other 2 rooms sat at a nice chill 22 degrees. The same filthiness in the other 2 rooms also. What I can’t get over is, you have SO SO MANY STAFF working but the cleanliness is non existent. Please go and have a look in your showers, that mould and corner scum will make anyone sick. Will never stay here again, such a shame as it really is a nice property, would be better if it was maintained.
