法利日出飯店(Sunrise on Falie Seaview Eco Accommodation)

Kangaroo Island offers an amazing natural environment to explore but we have just spent three days in the trees at American River. Sunrise on Falie provides the best facilities my mobility challenged husband and I have experienced. Hosts Kevin and Yvonne were interstate but their prompt responses to our last minutes queries could not be faulted. Thank you for your care of and attention to those who need a little more care.

As the name implies, the morning sun rising over the expansive lake system of American River is spectacular. The location is ideal for exploring the eastern and middle sections of Kangaroo Island. The accommodation is expansive, comfortable and has everything you will need for an extended stay.

Our property was on the first floor which was quite steep to drive into as it is located on a hill. It has great view and the place itself was overall very pleasant to stay in. It has all the amenities you need like plates/stove/cups/etc. It was very well insulated due to the owner's passion in energy efficiency (they even documented how they did it - makes great reading I assure you) so it was very comfortable despite it was rainy and cold that day/night. The overall size of the accomodation was relatively small but cosy. There are 2 bedrooms of average size and we had a nice sleep overnight. The place is a little bit hard to find given there was no phone reception on this island (unless you are with Telstra) so the instruction on how to get there by the owner needed to be read meticulously. The area is not far from the centre of the activity within the island which is Kingscote. This is handy as you don't want to be too far away to be remote (like West End of the Island) in case you need to go to General Store or Fuel. Overall a nice place to stay and would consider coming back again if we visit the island again.

From the time of our first communication with Kevin we were impressed with his friendly nature, and helpful travel tips and info for planning our stay. On arrival we were so delighted to find the spacious Penthouse apar**ent as advertised, spotlessly clean and delightfully decorated, with a lovely view over the trees and water. I really enjoyed Yvonne's photography of the island, a great feature. We were on the island for a week, so all the extras and "little things" you'll find in the apar**ent were greatly appreciated. The kitchen contains everything you might need if you're eating in. It was delightful to sit and watch the endangered black cockatoos and other birdlife. Local walking tracks were so enjoyable and there was a selection of dining options in the town. We particurly enjoyed a Friday night meal at the Community Shed, with plenty of friendly locals. "Sunrise on Falie" is a great spot to base yourself, if you can give yourself plenty of time to enjoy a moment to relax and enjoy the apar**ent too!

2 bedroom fully kitted out apar**ent with a sea view. Lots of birds and off the main road so it's nice and quiet, outdoor sitting area. Pros; location, facilities, communication with the owner, wifi, eco conscious living. Cons; shared toiletries. Personally not a fan of large openable soaps and shampoos and coloured towels. Hotels use white towels that can be bleached, personal preference and I used my own toiletries. Sitting area could benefit from screens to make it more private from the street and hide the owners stuff.

Unit well stocked with commodities.Some issues with verandah floor boards and non working toaster which were fixed immediately on reporting.Outside area needed some attention.Water pressure slow.I found it overpriced but very comfortable.

house was very comfortable and had most of what we expected. views were lovely Bathroom could use some hooks and somewhere to put clothes, toiletries. The outside area was very limited. Garden could benefit from some attentio .
