We had a truly wonderful experience during our short stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided outstanding service—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a Sri Lankan smile. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The hotel itself is stunning with a mixture of old and new. The design is elegant and inviting, with beautifully maintained spaces that reflect both comfort and luxury. Our room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and offered a serene retreat. The location is breathtaking! The amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. We especially appreciated the little touches—fresh flowers in the lobby, prompt room service, and the relaxing ambiance throughout. Très belle ancienne demeure coloniale avec une magnifique vue sur le temple de la dent et à l’écart du centre bruyant de Kandy . Nous avions une véritable chambre de ministre tellement elle était grande La sdb mériterait cependant d’une bonne rénovation . Accueil sri lankais toujours aussi souriant et serviable. Il n’y a pas de restaurant dans l’hôtel il suffit de descendre à pied dans Kandy et remonter en tuktuk. Il y a un grand centre pour du shopping européen et un grand marché pour les locaux pour des fruits légumes et t-shirt et polo pas chers . Le tour du lac est très reposant et nous permet d’oublier tous les bouchons de voiture dans Kandy où il est très difficile de circuler.

This is small hotel (only 4 rooms) in a colonial house set in a beautiful garden. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel is not well managed and maintained, which basically destroys the whole appeal of the property. There were a number of issues with our room: -some mold on the walls (see picture), with the odor that goes with it, most likely coming from a leak on the roof. We asked for another room, but the problem was the same -the sink faucet is not well fixed -the shower drain is clogged -there was also a security hazard with a power outlet very close to the shower (see picture) In addition to that, we were waken up at 7h00 by construction workers making a lot of noise. While we had breakfast, it was basically the same circus… Also to note, the place has not swimming pool and no restaurant. In a nutshell, the place would have a lot of potential if it was well maintained and managed, but at the moment it is not worth the money.

I dont know why this hotel gets such good reviews. For its out was the worst hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka and terrible value for money. I suggest you read all reviews carefully before booking. Not a 5 star hotel. Dirty and overpriced The grounds, building, entrance and furniture are beautiful but that's where it ends. The bathroom floor was dirty and our towels were dirty also. When we asked for new towels we were given out of the packet that had not been washed!! The shower had black mould and a broken tiles that can cut your foot and would need to go to hospital. There was no water pressure in the shower it was like someone was tipping water on you with a tablespoon. One of the worst things about the hotel was the room was not secure and you could easily come into the room at night. We were worried so we put a chair behind the door to secure it. You can see in one of the pictures there is sticky tape on the door. The safe can be lifted and taken out. The 2 days we were there, there were only 2 young boys working at the hotel with limited English and who were untrained. On the day of check out 2 men who were obviously senior came to collect our money. The whole other time we were there we were alone and although they were sweet we received no service This hotel is not 5 star and not worth $250 USD per night. Max I would pay is $130 USD per night even though staying in a dirty hotel I probably. This hotel reeks of greed and exploitation. I do not recommend you book this hotel. PS this review is on the upgraded room. We were offered a third time saw no difference

Belle maison coloniale très bien située, il n’y a que quatre chambres donc calme, petit déjeuner correct. Points négatifs : hôtel vieillissant, manquant d’entretien, la propreté n’est pas leur point fort, le voilage du lit à baldaquin à plus que besoin d’être lavé, voir changé. Les draps étaient froissés, il faudrait investir dans un fer à repasser. Lorsque nous avons voulu nous doucher le soir en arrivant, le flacon de gel douche était vide, après avoir en avoir demandé, cela n’était pas possible dans l’immédiat, il était 21h30 et je pense que le jeune homme qui était là devait être couché, il a fallu attendre le lendemain, en attendant il nous a donner le sien. Il n’y a pas de réception et le personnel n’est pas forcément présent, visible ou disponible Attention il n’y a qu’une seule clef pour la chambre donc si vous partez avec ils ne pourrons pas la faire, c’est ce qui nous est arrivé et à notre retour, il a fallu demander à la personne présente de la faire car cela ne semblait pas évident pour elle. Les lits ont été fermés, les serviettes de bains changées, le flacon de gel douche rempli, un coup de lavette dans la salle de bain mais pas de coup de balai dans la pièce principale. Ce sont deux jeunes hommes qui semblaient gérer, le gérant n’est visible que le matin au petit déjeuner. Bref grosse déception.

This beautiful Villa which was established in the beginning of the 20th Century has a wonderful Garden a sensationell view to the lake. With his only 4 rooms enables a private and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for staying here and being your guest!
