Lieu unique dans un cadre enchanteur, une petite jungle privée et surtout loin de la foule de Kandy. Service impeccable et surtout beaucoup de gentillesse de la part de l’ensemble de l’équipe. Nourriture de grande qualité.

This hotel is way overpriced for the what is it. Whilst the staff is very nice and helpful, the building is run down and dirty. We got initially allocated the ‘ultra’ category room called black rajah. This room shouldn’t be called a room. Bathroom is dirty, ceiling is really low is you are taller than 1.80cm, careful with your head. It is a lower ground floor room located below the dinning restaurant so you hear every single step above your head. The door didn’t close properly let alone lock. Toilette is totally open, with a gap in the wall so you actually really have zero privacy whilst in the room wanting to use the toilet yet. The massage spot is in the middle of the garden so zero privacy and perfect for all type of mosquitos and other insect looking for a body to bite! I found the price charged for the hotel outrageously expensive comparing to other hotels in the region and country and for what it has to offer. Really disappointing and unpleasant experience overall.

Colonial style hotel that offers very traditional rooms in a lovely setting. Pool, rooms, common areas, grounds etc all excellent. Exactly what we feel most comfortable with. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a slightly larger room with separate seating area on the upper floor which was a lovely gesture. Service excellent. The allocated butler was very friendly, professional and was very accommodating. I saw other reviews commenting on the food menu and cost. Lovely lunch menu. Very tasty with good portion size. Dinner menu had two starter options and three main to choose from. We had no issue in selecting and found the quality to be truly excellent. Very high standard. I saw other reviewers commenting on the price of food and drink. I agree it is high but should not come as a surprise given the cost of the rooms. If you are prepared to pay the room rate for this unique offering then you need to come ready to spend on the food and drink. Take on the whole experience, that is what holidays are for. One area for improvement which is very minor. The pool is amazing but needs a little love. Walls need a clean. The algae does come off, I tried. Also get the infinity working!! The pool is an asset so milk it.

My spouse and I spent two delightful nights at The Kandy House in Kandy, Sri Lanka, where the blend of beautifully maintained colonial architecture and luxurious grounds immediately caught our attention. Pradeep's attentive service stood out, ensuring our stay was comfortable and memorable. The exceptional Sri Lankan cuisine offered an authentic taste of the local culture, while our room was spacious and elegant.

This is a peaceful colonial house away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. The rooms are spacious and you have a veranda for each room to relax on. You have your own butler (very pleasant) who was sometimes a little too attentive for our liking. We were also surprised that other than the shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom we didn’t have any of the usual sundries like shower cap etc. We were there in a torrential downpour which lasted most of the late afternoon and evening. The roof over our son’s bed leaked quite badly and they had to move the bed to prevent it totally saturating the it. Another room had 6 different leaks and that couple eventually were given another room. We felt they didn’t handle our situation particularly well. It took a while for them to check the room and maybe we should have been offered another room given the leak. The place wasn’t full. The food is delicious and it’s served outside on the covered veranda in a pleasant environment. Because of the rain we had to have drinks inside which again is in a lovely setting. We did think the food was slightly more expensive here than other places we stayed in. The deep swimming pool is set in the gardens overlooking a paddy field and has in beautiful views. However although the water seemed clean, the bottom of the pool did look dirty. Also, beware, because it had rained there were leeches in the grass and my son had one attach on his hand and we found others on our feet. We did enjoy our stay but compared to the rest of our hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka we felt It just seemed a bit tired.
