Why doesn't Marriott enforce their own pool chair policy? People start placing towels on prime shaded chaise lounges before 8am and then they don't show up for 2-3 hours. Meanwhile, if you want a shaded spot, good luck!! These entitled people that they own these spots because they were selfish enough to put towels on the chairs before someone else. Marriott: enforce the no reserve policy or better yet, provide more shaded seating spots in the large green space next to the Napili pool. This one facet of the Napili Tower soured our experience because we really couldn't use the pool without doing what others were doing, and we weren't going to "be those people." Marriott: do better.

BEWARE!! Only stay here if you want to be charged an extra $300 for damages you didn’t cause! After checkout, I was hit with a surprise charge. When I called to ask about it, they first claimed it was a smoking fee — but once I told them we weren’t smokers, they quickly changed their story and said it was for a cut they supposedly found on the couch. Let me be very clear: we left the room in perfect condition. I fully believe this slit on the couch was caused by their own housekeeping staff because it was clearly not there when we left the room! Someone had to use a knife or something to cause this damage. This is FRAUD!! I REFUSE to pay for something I didn’t do, and I’ll be disputing the charge with my bank. This hotel clearly lacks integrity. I wish I could give them zero stars. Stay FAR away — I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We (wife, 17 and 18 y.o. boys). spent the last week of 2024 in a mountain facing, 2 br, 2 bath unit. We've stayed in the Napili Tower several times over the past 18 years and it never disappoints. These self-catering units (full kitchens and in-unit laundry machines) can easily accommodate a family/group of 4-6 people. Other than the furniture, and kitchen and bathroom cabinets looking a bit tired (a resort employee told me the Napili and Lahaina Towers are slated for a facelift in the near future), it's an excellent choice for lodging... The building has its own parking lot, so you don't have to walk far to get to your car.... It also has it's own array of pools, grills and a hot tub, but it is a bit more of a walk to get to the main pool area, but that was no big deal for us... And the beach is right there in front of the building.... All in all, it's a great place to stay and i highly recommend it...

Been coming here for many years. Always great. Not so much anymore. Will not be back. terribly crowded. Terrible service. Used to eat in room and bbq. No availability at bbq. No availability at laundry. No availability at poolside. Difficult but possible to park. Room was awful. No hot water. Loud ac. Asked to speak to manager 10 days out of 14. No luck. Stay away. Room was awful, just to make a point. Staff said hard to get room because most of the rooms go to renters not timeshare owners. Makes sense but as owner it hurts.

We stayed at the Maui Ocean Club for one week in the Lahaina building. The room was very nice, beds were comfortable, kitchen was big and we had a washer and dryer in the room. There are dinner specials at the Beachwalk on site. We had the prime rib dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and corn for $39. The portions were large so we had enough for lunch the next day. We also tried to order the BBQ dinner special on a different night but they ran out, so the staff suggested we try the Korean fried chicken special, we are glad we did, it was delicious. We had no problem getting chairs by the pool at 8:30am, probably because this was September; but did observe people saving more chairs than needed, other people could have used the extra lounge and chair. The resort has activities on site. Download the MVC app and you can look up the calendar ahead of your arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was one negative experience. My mother rents an electric scooter each time she visits Hawaii. The company drops it off and she has it upon arrival. This time the resort refused to accept it stating that the renter must be present to receive. She lost a day with the scooter and we had to cut our next day short to be on site to receive the scooter. We understand they instituted this new policy a week before we arrived, just wish we would have known.

This property is a Marriott Vacation Club so just be aware of that when booking if you’re not a vacation club owner. We booked a two night stay in a studio room here before going to another hotel nearby because it was a good deal on points. Overall it was a fine stay, but the studio rooms are not as nice as the larger rooms with full kitchens and laundry that they show as part of their vacation club presentations. This place is probably better for families with children - and we saw lots of multigenerational families. Since it’s a vacation club your Bonvoy status doesn’t get you anything in terms of upgrades or other amenities. The checkout time is 10:00 am and when we asked for a late checkout, we were told they don’t do that, but offered a 10:30 am checkout as the latest possibility which is earlier than most hotels standard checkout. The main perk of the hotel was a microwave in room, free laundry on nearby floors, and water refill stations around the property. The hotel is walking distance to nearby whalers village - but to stay on a paved route you have to walk up towards the street and back down because of a condo building in between - or you can cut through the sand. A free neighborhood trolley goes to some places nearby if you catch it when it arrives (usually every 30 minutes) and there’s also a Maui bus stop near the hotel ($2 each ride). A few issues with the room was that our ceiling fan seemed to have issues - it wouldn’t change speed and when it did work it was very slow. The light switches for the lamp and accompanying outlet near the bed were all set in the off position but was actually the on position so check to see that the outlet is working if you’re trying to charge your phone. There were a number of pools but limited availability of chairs with shade near the pools and people seemed to claim chairs early. We ended up using some chairs on the lawn area near a pool but facing the ocean but with no shade/umbrella you could only sit out for so long. We did agree to do a timeshare presentation and it ended up taking longer than scheduled (2 hours instead of 90 minutes). Had we known how long it would take we probably would’ve done this on the day we checked out since we had time to waste anyways due to not getting a late checkout. They were doing 40,000 pts for attending which was our main reason for signing up. They also gave a promotional card to use for discounts on nearby restaurants which we didn’t make use of. If we had paid the going cash rate for the studio room we probably would’ve been disappointed but for the deal we got it was a fantastic deal.
