坦布伊拉姆飯店(Thambu Illam)

Mooi klein hotel in het centrum van Jaffna, maar toch in een vrij rustige buurt. Onze kamer was een beetje basic, maar op ons verzoek werden direct twee schommelstoelen bijgeplaatst, waardoor we ook in de kamer prima kunnen lezen. Het hotel heeft geen eigen restaurant, maar je kunt er wel eten laten bezorgen op basis van een menukaart. Het eten wordt vervolgens op het terras opgediend. Ook het ontbijt is lekker met veel fruit en een eitje naar keuze. Maar het beste van het hotel is het zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel. Geweldig!

Kleine relativ neu renovierte Villa mit nur 4 großen Zimmern, zum Teil sogar mit 2 Räumen. Sehr gute Lage (ca. 1.2 km zum Zentrum), tolles Frühstück und zum Abendessen wurde das Essen aus einem Restaurant geordert mit einer vielfältigen Speisekarte. Das Personal war extrem freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Ebenso ist der zwar kleine aber sehr saubere und geschmackvolle Pool mit kleiner Terrasse zu erwähnen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder da übernachten, wenn wir nochmals nach Jaffna fahren sollten. Petra und Frank

We had a lovely stay here. Room was very spacious. Bed was comfortable and bedding was fresh and clean. Bathroom was nice and clean and shower was hot. A/C worked well. Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was nice and plentiful although it would have been ice to have some juice. The only think I would say is that it was overpriced for what you get

Turned back after seeing the place. The food is not prepared in the house, it is sourced from outside hence guests have no insight into its hygiene. The house has no ambiance of a hotel and the access gets waterlogged after rain.

This is a 4 bedroom hotel in old house and provides lovely setting. The manager and staff are really helpful without being annoying. There is a small pool and garden area at front and back. I only had one night there but wish I was able to stay longer. I had overnight train from Colombo and arrived to torrential rain and they proactively called me to check if needed to check in early. Fortunately the room was available. I also had the Jaffa breakfast which was good. The photos are accurate. Would definitely go back and would be great place for group stay.

Home atmosphere, safe & catered to my needs exceptionally well.

Thanks Illam was such a tranquil place to stay. Slightly away from Jaffna town but an easy walk or tuk tuk drive. The traditional house is beautifully restful and nicely furnished. The bedrooms simple but more than adequate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the delicious breakfast and hope to return.
