This place has all the potential to be a fantastic beachfront boutique beauty. But thanks to poor management, dated fittings, and lower levels of hospitality(there were no staff even attending the front desk for even emergency requests past 11:30 PM or so!) is bogging this place down to a 2-star hotel! And at the exorbitant price we had to pay for a so-called ‘suite’ room with a balcony was just unacceptable for the quality we got in return. Too many things weren't working as they were supposed to. The Air conditioning in the room was weak, the TV channels never worked, etc. Stay away and choose other cooler properties in the neighborhood if you can. LOCATION: Excellent location right on the beach in the heart of Hikaduwa DINE + DRINK: The Breakfast served at their beachfront restaurant is super lame, and can be skipped without guilt. And the menu is quite odd with almost no Local cuisine - except for just a lone RICE & CURRY option. Not cool given how much more they could have done. ROOM: We stayed in the SUITE room with the balcony, so this review is based on that; SIZE: This was certainly NOT a suite but only a slightly bigger room with a nice living area and a couch; VIEW: Spectacular view from the huge balcony attached to the room; AIR-CON: Faced a huge functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Super random toiletries, bring your own if you stay here! FACILITIES: Super claustrophobic and dingy Gym in the basement with a minimal range of weights and dated Cardio machines. The swimming pool was quite good and came with lovely views of the ocean. SERVICE: Good staff that took care of all our needs, but can certainly do better and smile more to echo the real Sri Lankan warm hospitality HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Small Plasma TV that barely worked!
