La posizione sulla collina con vista mozzafiato sul mare vale tutta l’esperienza. La stanza era definita “deluxe”, penso proprio per la vista spettacolare. Il bagno era un po’ vecchiotto; basterebbe qualche ritocco come cambiare il silicone intorno alla vasca e rinnovare la carta del soffitto per renderlo all’altezza della camera. Ottima colazione abbondante e personale molto gentile. Non ho gradito la musica pop durante la colazione: il luogo è bellissimo e il silenzio o una musica soft sarebbero stati più congeniali ma sono consapevole che è una questione di gusti.

A well presented hotel with pleasant staff. Good breakfast and only a short drive to Helmsdale for supper. The Timespan museum in Helmsdale is very interesting and well presented as this is one of the Clearances areas. Herring fishing then became a huge industry. It's worth a drive inland towards Kildonan from where people were relocated. Lots of deer along the road as well as sheep and lumber.

Lovely house, full of character, excellent breakfast, beautiful location and a decent pint. Loved this place. Dog friendly, easy parking. Real fires in the public areas made the place welcoming and cosy, I would definitely stay here again.

Loved this hotel the owners were absolutely wonderful and welcoming. My room had recently been decorated and I loved the view from my room. The bar is really cozy with a big open fire. Five stars to the owners and the location is breathtaking. I will return!

Had a lovely wee break here. Very clean, very beautiful views and had most gorgeous room with a bath. Highly recommend. The breakfast was made to order and delicious. The bar was great value and incredibly friendly. Most rooms are also dog friendly. Hard working family have turned this into a great place to stay. I believe they are doing weddings now and what a lovely venue it would be.

Very welcoming and friendly hotel. Just enjoyed our second visit there, with our dog, who is made so welcome. Due to travel issues we were very late arriving, (after normal closing time) but a quick phone call to let them know, and they were very accepting of this and sorted us out, for which we are extremely grateful. We have the Dove suite which has lovely views and is spacious and beautifully clean, with excellent quality complimentary toiletries, good drinks tray, and a lovely comfy bed. Breakfast is delicious and despite me being lactose/gluten intolerant and vegetarian, I still had plenty of things to eat. The team are working really hard to upgrade this hotel and are doing a good job. Its a shame no evening meals are served, but totally understandable, and not far to the nearest eating place if needed. All in all a warm, welcoming, and very comfortable stay. Our stop of choice always when travelling to and from Orkney.

A very warm welcome. The hotel is in a beautiful location but is a bit tired. However it is gradually being refurbished. Our room was very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was excellent with everything freshly cooked. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Beautiful room and stunning view from our window. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had a delicious, enormous breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

I reserved a room here near the end of our NC500 road trip, and it was quite a convenient stop along the way to the Black Isle. We were enthusiastically greeted upon entering, and quickly shown to our lovely room, which overlooked the parking lot , offering a side view of the North Sea. The room featured a large comfortable bed with ensuite full-bath/shower that actually had a sunlight in the ceiling. The bathroom was a bit outdated (which never bothers us) , but the new owners are slowly working to update each one of the ensuites to make them more modern. The towels were rather small, and there were no washcloths. There was plenty of shampoo, conditioner and body wash included. The ground floor features a full bar, where one can partake of drinks from 4:00 to 10:30 pm. We enjoyed relaxing at the end of the day and chatting with one of the owners in the evening. Helmsdale is very close and recommended for an evening meal. There was a hostess tray with tea/coffee/etc and a hair dryer included in the room as well. Wi-fi had a strong signal. Breakfast was not included in our room rate, but we chose to pay for it as an extra, for the convenience. There were muffins, pastries, yogurt and cereals to choose in addition to a hot cooked breakfast which included several options. I chose the Avocado toast as my option. But there was no fresh fruit. The breakfast room is located in a bright room featuring many windows with a lovely view looking over the lawn to the sea. The staff was quite friendly and accommodating. This is the perfect stop if traveling along the NC500. The owners are delightful and obviously quite hard working in trying to make one's stay as comfortable as possible.
