The Sun Boutique and Lounge

My wife and I took our 2 daughters to this hotel for a one night stay. The hotel doesn’t do evening meals, but does have an arrangement with the next door chip shop, where food can be ordered and delivered to the hotel bar. We had fish and chips, Whitby scampi and chips - and it was fantastic! Breakfast was probably one of the best I’ve had, everything freshly cooked from local produce. Rooms, were clean and comfortable. We will definitely be returning.

First time staying at the Sun Inn and I’m sure won’t be the last. Our room was spotless, but very warm despite fan provided , I asked Andy if they had an alternative room which he kindly showed me two. We moved and everything was perfect, amenities,cleanliness and breakfast. Andy then said he would cover the cost for changing room which was amazing of him to do. Everyone is so friendly here as well as Andy and Jenny , thanks for a lovely break ❤️

Jenny and Andy made us so welcome! Andy was an especially good host in the evening setting aside a table for us to watch the live music and chatting with us about our recent trip. Parking is close by and only a two-minute walk from the car to the Sun Inn. Breakfast was great.

Did not get to go because we booked in January for May and they have since ceased trading. They couldn't even give us the courtesy of sending a email that they had ceased trading, took our money and now I am struggling to get this back even though I paid on credit card. If they have any decency they will confirm online somewhere that they have ceased trading so I can claim this back through the bank! Awful company!

Amazing hidden gem in a perfect location we have just got had a 2 night break here after a poor holiday abroad and what can we say the place was spotless the owner’s go above and beyond to make you feel at home the rooms amazing and the bed was super comfy breakfast was perfect and lots of choices and the live entertainment was fabulous we will be back with the family for sure

Just back from a lovely midweek stay at the Sun Inn and what a pleasure it was to go there. From the minute we stepped into the place everyone we met was just lovely. The place was spotless, and the breakfast that was included was just amazing! The music night with" Fiona in the lakes" topped off a fabulous stay despite the rainy weather at the beginning of the week. Thankyou for looking after us so well. Cant wait to come back.

Like the previous reviewer we had the same experience. Turned up today to find the place closed. Tried phoning and a message played back stating that they had ceased trading. We booked this in December and paid in full. We were still getting emails from them only a few days ago to confirm our arrival so didn't suspect anything was wrong. Speaking to the locals they were unsure what had happened as it just closed suddenly. We have tried emailing them but not hopeful if we can get a refund. They should not be able to get away with this by taking the money and running.

I booked this place over6 months ago and turned up on 10th Feb to be told by a local that they had done a bunk and it was closed Tried to make contact by phone and email and was unable to speak to anybody. Thankfully we managed to book the last room in The Red Lion otherwise our trip would have been ruined.

Really lovely little B&B in a cute and twee lakes village. We stayed in room 6 which apart from low head height in places was absolutely spot on. Spotlessly clean and in great order. Modern ensuite was lovely. Coffee and tea facilities. Nice big bed. Breakfast was amazing. Well cooked and presented. Set us up for the day. Staff were very friendly and I would recommend staying here.
