+ O Hotel é magnifico, novo, muito bem decorado. A vista é fantastica e a praia embora cheia de algas, mais selvagem, mas muito agradavel, sibretudo se caminhar para a esquerda até encontrar uma piscina natural. - o serviço muito fraco, lento, desorganizqdo e desleixado. Os funcionários nao são simpaticos, sao arrogantes e mostram má vontade em fazer as coisas. Nota-se que os chefes de equipa, se esforçam por ver os clientes satisfeitos, mas depois a equipa nao corresponde, por isso, acho que há falta de cuidado. A limpeza dos espaços comuns é péssima, restos de comida no chão, mesas sujas de bebidas, chao da piscina suja de bebidas e vidros. Nao há ao longo do dia ninguem a limpar. Apenas 2 restaurantes e um apoio de piscina. Fraco de variedade de comida, falta de variedade de pão (nunca vi), serviço muito lento, desisti dos grelhados que para além de queimados, demoravam uma eternidade. Falta de organização e muita falta de formacao ao nivel dos RH. Ainda muito a fazer, não deveria estar aberto. Penso que se continuar assim, degrada-se o edificio e torna-se num hotel fraco. Analisem os muitos comentários que se encontram em concordancia uns com os outros e aproveitem para corrigir. Apesar de nao repetir, Boa sorte e sucesso!

It is such a pity to write this poor review because the views are lovely and rooms large and well designed and property is fantastic but the substandard service and food made this a disappointing stay. It should not take 2 hours to check-in after a long flight. Front desk was very disorganized and seemed overwhelmed by the large number of people trying to check in. Everyone was friendly and welcoming but that can't excuse the terrible food. I lost weight at this all inclusive resort as I avoided meals after the first day. There is no quality control - you cannot leave lukewarm food at a buffet for hours so I skipped that. I was disappointed that there were no Caribbean fruits at breakfast and no local cuisine and barely any vegetarian food. The pasta bar is overcooked pasta with tasteless white or red sauce. The pastries are soggy. The pizza was burnt, every day. The fries were cold. The sushi was iffy. At least there was an omelet bar with made to order eggs. It was low quality American fast food all the time at the Grille and the main buffet restaurant. There was a broken expresso machine and they only served weak drip coffee. Cheap canned juice (you're in the Caribbean, why not have fresh squeezed juices available?) Suggestion to Wyndham - get a proper chef for this hotel who has experience training staff. The food was a disgrace. You cannot expect high quality meals (or repeat guests) if you hire untrained kitchen staff to cook, without any supervision. Also, buy high quality local foods like fruits, not cheap imports from the USA. I was with a group and no one had a good thing to say about the food. This place has great potential but until you hire a proper chef, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. I've been to Barbados many times and never had an issue with hotel or restaurant food, so this is not normal. Why doesn't management read these reviews? These aren't difficult issues to fix and they seem to have been going on for a while.

I’d hoped the reviews were over the top but sadly we experienced a few things others did. We had no hot water until two days before we left The rooms were freezing, luckily I brought thick socks with me to wear at night as the floor was so cold. The food was average at best, breakfast was probably the best, mostly food was lukewarm warm (like the water) and not great options, in particular the salad bar looked quite sad. The pasta bar took forever (forgetting orders) while the Sam lords grill was a very small menu but the food was good there at least. Poolside drink ordering was either brilliant or very slow or didn’t turn up at all. Very inconsistent! The staff mainly were great but there were a few that looked miserable and slammed stuff around us and we were often scared to ask for anything. The castle restaurant was very very average. One day they ran out of water at the bars and despite saying they have an extensive wine list you had three options.

Die Lage ist gut. Der Rest eine Katastrophe. In den Aufzügen ist noch der Bauschmutz. Glastüren etc. auch noch nie geputzt. Das gesamte Hotel hat Null A**osphäre. Erinnert an ein Möbellager. Die Zimmer sind OK. Aber das Personal unter aller Kritik. Extrem inkompetent und ausgesprochen unfreundlich. Es gibt viele Mitarbeiter aber offensichtlich kein Management. Wenn das Urlaub sein soll, bleibe ich lieber zuhause.

I came to Barbados for my birthday the Sam Lords Castle gave me the best experience I’ve ever had ! The service was great they even didn’t ballon’s , confetti , and a card for my birthday ! Majority of the staff was so kind and helpful especially the front desk and guest services I didn’t get everyone’s name and I’m probably misspelling a few but shout out to Alyssa , Candace , Shiloh, Kiana . There were 2 more I forgot to get there name she had glasses and half up half down she was so kind and helpful with my excursions. The resort had good food and drinks better than we expected for a resort . They even accommodate us after we checked out and waited for our taxi. Everything was so amazing the staff alone made me want to come back I love love love it there. All the facilities were clean the staff was attentive to every detail stay here you won’t regret it .

First let me say that this is a very impressive major resort facility with extensive buildings and 420 rooms, several beautiful pools, several eating venues of different types, exquisite ocean views from very spacious suites. The government must have a big stake in this facility. Lamentably, the resort is on the windward southeast side of the island where the near constant strong winds come directly at you off the Atlantic Ocean. Seaside resort seekers would seek the leeward southwest side. We opted for a 3 day post cruise visit in Barbados to celebrate a major birthday for the author and through our Silversea cruise line was put up at this new, hardly open, hardly completed resort. The Wyndham even informed us that the gym and spa was not yet open and wouldn’t be for our 3 day stay. About 30 or so on our ship similarly were put up here by our cruise line and we arrived at 11:45 am. The reception area had no way to deal with all of us in that no rooms were to be ready until 4 in the afternoon. We finally got into our room just before 6 pm…some 6 hours later!! And, some of our bags not until 6:30!. Our room was missing most of the usual amenities….lotions, coffee cups, glasses, etc. it had one chair for a large suite, one suitcase rack. The room had no wastebasket other than a small metal receptacle next to the commode for disposal of feminine products according to my wife. A room service manager quickly brought up some of these items and apologized for the lack of these items. While these were irksome issues for an advertised 5 Star resort that was purportedly ready to open, it was what we would call a “soft opening” and just not ready for prime time! The staff for the most part were wonderful and went out of their way to help. One could feel quite comfortable and happy here once fully equipped and staffed.

Stayed at this hotel for a 2 night staycation and was impressed from beginning to end. Check-in was smooth and quick, we got our room around 11: 30 a.m., even though check-in was at 4pm. Dinner at Castle View was 9/10. Service and food was great (except for the dessert). Buffets in the main restaurant were ok, could benefit from a wider selection of options. The staff was always friendly and helpful, mini fridge was restocked and house keeping visited just to see if we needed anything for the room. Room was clean, modern, and spacious. Will definitely return when all the amenities are operational.
