We have stayed in many Residence Inn but this one is below par. The building is a little run down and seems a bit neglected. Staff seems disinterested. First morning the complimentary breakfast was a joke. At least 25 people lined up, all the food containers empty, when a staff member came to “refill” the food, he came with about 7 bacon slices and 8 hashbrowns, By the third guest in line it was all empty again. Also no forks to eat with - just knives and spoons. The housekeeping was even worse than the breakfast. The first day they didn’t come at all. The second day, they came but only made one of the two beds in the room (never seen that before!). No sweeping or vacuuming, no wiping bathroom counters, just made one of the two beds…very bizarre. The beds were very noisy (squeaky) and bouncy and the outside noise from the street made it hard to sleep. This Residence Inn unfortunately does a bit of damage to the brand.
Barrington Hotel
LLuu Phuong LanI recently stayed at Sandman Signature hotel and couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated
訪訪客I must say I am sorry to write this review because I have stayed at the Quality Inn many times in the past and I have always been satisfied. However my recent stay was terrible. I was flying home from Cancun and the flight arrived shortly after 1 a.m. By the time I arrived at the hotel and in my room it was about 1:45 a.m. The room was in the lower level of the hotel which needs much needed attention and improvements. My room which cost me $185.00 was freezing cold. The heat had not been turned up even though the room was fully paid for. The floors were freezing cold and I was hoping to have a hot bath after a long day of traveling but that was not feasible. I turned the heat up but the room was going to take some time to reach a decent temperature. My bed was so cold that I ended up crawling in wearing my winter clothing I had travelled in. Even then I was still cold and shivering. I curled up and hoped to fall asleep as I had a two hour drive the next morning and due to a snow storm the day before I had to dig my car out before my departure. So I made the best of what I was faced with. I did not discuss this situation the next morning with the front desk staff as I was tired and just wanted to go home. After a few days at home I wrote to Kari Webber, the front desk manager, and told her of my displeasure with my very cold room. I never had a reply from her so I called. I was told she was in a meeting. She never returned my call. I wrote to Anil, the general manager, and no reply and no phone call. So the Quality Inn at the Halifax Airport is not the same as it was in the past. New owners and from what I can see a lack of customer service. I am sorry that the new management is taking this attitude and showing a lack of care and consideration for their customers. In the future I will stay where I am considered a guest and where I will have a warm and comfortable room. I paid $185.00 for my second stay and also stayed before my trip. I am 79 years old and I have travelled a good many times in my lifetime but I must say this recent stay at the Quality Inn on March 2nd will rank as one of my worst. You know there is nothing better than word of mouth advertising and the management at Quality Inn seem to have overlooked this.
It is what it is. A tiny little room for cheap. Parking is on the street. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, then wake up and leave, then it isn’t bad. Staff was friendly and helpful. By no means fancy but a cheap bed for the night. Probably not for light sleepers as you can hear everything out in the hall.
