卡巴波德青年旅舍(Catba Pod Hostel)

We booked a private room with balcony and sea view via a booking engine for 500k VND which is around £16. The hostel also does pod style dorms for around half the price. The hostel is on the sea front right in the centre of Catba town. Our room was on the 2nd floor, very large and clean with picture window looking onto the bay and with a nice balcony decorated with a sunset scene. The bed was large and comfy, there was a flat screen tv and fridge, ac and fan. The bathroom was large with a new boiler so hot water and good pressure. The floor drained well so not as bad for puddles as many rooms. The hostel has a restaurant on the ground floor which is one of the most popular in town. Staff are friendly and most speak good English. All in all a great stay at a bargain price. I’d have given a rating of 5 but for a couple of small *******. One was noise from the neighbouring club at Big Man which started at 10.30 every night. The hostel can’t help that and the double glazing was actually pretty good but we could still hear the music with ear plugs in. Another small issue was that we rented a scooter via the hostel for a good price of 100k. However the scooters brought by their partner company were literally dropping to bits. The first wouldn’t start. The second broke down after half a mile. The third sounded like it was on its last legs. They need to use a different form or get them to maintain their bikes better. Small issues which didn’t spoil our stay. Best room in a month in SE Asia!

We spend 2 nights at this place. Everything was great (food, staff, localisation...). The staff is really nice and helpful. They can help you to book and manage all the transport! Thanks to all the Catba Pod team.

An amazing hostel! We planned to stay for 3 nights but stayed an extra night as the hostel was so comfortable and the food was fantastic. Huong looked after us each day in the restaurant and was very friendly and welcoming. The food was great and it was the nicest latte I have had in Vietnam. Great service and you're looked after very well, beds are very comfortable also. We stayed in a double pod and didn't want to leave once you got in. Couldn't recommend this hostel enough for value and comfort!

The bad are goods and the shower is clean. It was kinda sad that people take the airconditioning remote with them so the room was very hot.. they have great reception and staff. Friendly when you come in and salute you.

In front of the ferry, at Cat Ba city center we planed to stay a few nights and ended staying for a all week. First at in a private room, after in a POD both perfect, relaxing, quiet, clean and very friendly. Special thanks to V, great sympathy and professionalism, speciali when we were facing a health issue, that could compromise at least a couple of vacations days, with is support and good will in couple of hours the issue was overcome. Highly recommended.
