Homewood Suites by Hilton Albany Crossgates Mall

When I went to check in I wasn’t greeted, the woman that checked me in was more so worried about clocking out and someone relieving her. I was told I’d have to wait because no rooms were ready. Luckily another staff member came over and confirmed there was a room ready. When we first arrived to our room it looked a bit dirty as if it wasn’t vacuumed, or wiped down,there was old food in the heater vent, like a whole cracker was in the vent sitting there. The couch had stains all over it and the blankets and sheets for the pull out couch were stained like actual food stains. When my daughter went to take a shower she noticed the brown ring around the tub before getting in. It felt as if the room was rushed to be clean.wasn’t the greatest experience. I chose this hotel because we previously stayed here and I had no complaints,but this time around it was a bit upsetting.

Waited 45 minutes to check in. The desk is right inside the doors so it’s chaos. When we got the room, one of the maids came and said she may have left an earring in the room and then entered without my permission. I told her to leave 3 times before she finally did. The counters were dirty, the dishwasher was going when we got there. Felt like a super 8 motel.

Great location, comfy hotel, delicious breakfast

Nice hotel but terrible cleaning. First room w checked into reeked of cigarette smoke. The cleaning staff either smoked cigarettes in the room, or ignored the smell and assigned it to new guests anyway (despite the hotel being at far less than capacity). Second room lacked the cig smell but was just dirty. It wasn't vacuumed, there were sticky spots on hard surfaces, and the sofa bed was absolutely disgusting - you can tell the cleaning staff never cleans that as there was food, crumbs, money, scrunchees, a sock, and an empty McDonald's bag all found within.

There was old conditioner or shampoo in the shower and the floors had not been vacuumed. So made us wonder what else had not been cleaned.

Stay here if you like packed hotels with very little peace and quiet and no oxygen. There's potpourri pumping out of the vents from the front lobby and even more my room. I could barely breathe! It was so strong and suffocating I couldn't sleep. There's no construction for people who are sensitive to heavy perfumes, no warning and no way to escape but to leave. The pool has chlorine, although most places don't provide that anymore. The grocery stand items cost 6 times the normal amount, outrageous!! Nice lobby, but hotel was so full we could barely use it.

I liked how convenient it was to all of Albany. The lobby was clean. The room we were given was not the one I paid for and it wasn’t comfortable for my family. We found a sock in the fold out sofa bed and the tub was not clean.

The room that I reserved was not available. I had no choice but to stay in a room that was not accommodating for me and my family. The room was also dirty.
