We only stayed here one night as we were just travelling the Snaefelssness penninsula. Its right near Kirkjufell. Close to town so easy to get dinner. Really a very nice clean, modern room. Full kitchen. If I lived in Iceland I would escape there for the weekend.
Comfortable and clean rooms, easy check-in, great home base after day of exploring Snæfellsnes Peninsula with views of Kirkjufell Mountain. We had an airy room on the second floor, two twin beds, with recently remodeled bathroom. Room had everything we needed except a water kettle, which is available in the shared kitchen on the first floor. Kitchen has everything to prepare meals including some leftover groceries from previous guests. Plenty of maps, guides, and books available on the first floor as well. Easy contact for reception through a phone at the front door/desk. It is a different concept than the other hotels we stayed at (more of a room in an inn, rather than a full-service hotel), which we appreciated for both the price and convenience. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Definitely recommend.
We spent 3 nights at Hotel Budir on our 16-day trip in Iceland. It was a splurge for us but we do not regret. The room was adequately spacious with a comfortable bed and a couch. The bathroom and towels were nice. The entire hotel itself was classy. The staff was friendly. The location/environment was tranquil. Even though the weather did not cooperate with us, we got to enjoy a little walk around and enjoyed it. It was close to the well known black little church which was what made us pick this hotel in the first place. We're glad we picked it and had three enjoyable and relaxing nights there.
