託恩伍德旅館(Thornewood Inn)

Old(ish) world charm with updated amenities. What's more owner who founded the place is charming without being treacle-y. Great location near some memorable restaurants and historic sites like Edith Wharton's estate.

This inn is quiet, peaceful, and comfortable, at least during our early Nov. weekend. there. We stayed in the Lady Troy room, which was very clean, and the bed was exceedingly comfortable. My one small request was immediately satisfied. My husband and I appreciated the made-to-order breakfast, which included fresh fruit and was delicious. Hosts Terri and David are interesting and gracious. The location is very convenient. I have read all the reviews, and really do not understand the (very few) negatives! I would definitely stay there again.

The Thornewood was amazing! The room was spacious and bright also Terry was an awesome host and chef!! We were only minutes to the Norman Rockwell Museum, which was incredible. I would definitely go back and highly recommend.

My husband, my sister and I soent two nights at the Thornewood Inn. The grounds are just lovely. The swimming pool delightful. The host were very accomadating. The location was near Great Barrington, Stockbridge and Lenox. We plan to return

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Terry and Laurie were very hospitable and helpful. Terry went out of her way to prepare a special breakfast to accommodate our daughter's food allergy. Very nice property.

We returned to the Thornewood Inn this week and enjoyed our stay as much as our first stay last summer. Our room was spacious and comfortable, our breakfast was delicious, and Terry and David are great hosts. We’ll be back!

Thornewood Inn is more expensive than another place we've often stayed in the Berkshires, but it's well worth it. First of all, it's in Great Barrington but a short distance north of the "*****" of typical motels. It has nice landscaping and a really lovely backyard with in-ground pool, as well as large porches/verandas where guests can sit outdoors, so you definitely feel like you're in the countryside. The house (ca. 1919, I understand) is beautiful and comfortably furnished with sitting rooms as well as the breakfast room. The breakfast buffet -- with cooked selections such as eggs and waffles -- is included. Hosts David and Terry Thorne were very helpful. We enjoyed our first stay so much, we booked another stay two weeks in the future. As such, we stayed in two different rooms, both equipped with a small refrigerator as well as the usual luxury toiletries and a hair dryer. One small caveat is that they don't clean your room during your stay, only after checkout. You can ask for clean towels and to empty your wastebasket and any other housekeeping you need. There is a bar and a banquet room, apparently just used for weddings and similar events (i.e., they don't regularly serve meals other than the breakfast buffet).

We had a wonderful stay at Thornewood Inn. It's a beautiful house, very clean, with plenty of space and lots to do. We very much enjoyed the pool and the gardens! The innkeepers were very attentive and helpful.

I can only leave a review on my room and stay. The advertisement for this place was misleading. I found it to be no where near what it said it would be. The room we stayed in Garden 2 was filthy and nasty. The pool that they advertised had black stuff at bottom of pool and it looked like it was not cleaned in some time. It just seemed that the place was in bad shape. I have enclosed some pics of our room and it was nasty. I can’t speak for other rooms but I can only imagine. Should have stayed at the Marriott down the road for what we paid at this place. I don’t know how they are getting good reviews? We had the stay for 2 days left way before check out. I
