water is not clean

Problems: downstairs had a portable AC, upstairs was hard to cool, there were dead flies on the bed & in the bed, 5+ on the floor, smell of bug spray in the room, not very clean. Not pleased with our stay, especially for the price.

Our experience was AWFUL!! The staff were pleasant and helpful and the building was nice BUT…. The walls a paper thin and it sounds like your next door neighbour is running a three ring circus. The worst part is that the rooms DO NOT HAVE A/C!!! ******* advertises that there is individual A/C, in fact there is none. It was so hot at night I couldn’t get to sleep until 5AM. This was a terrible experience. Warning to you if you are planning to book in any month it might be warm.

We had an amazing stay here for 3 nights! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved our rooms especially the fact the beds were in separate spaces (lofts). The only thing we struggled with was the noise from other guests who were up late slamming doors and talking loudly in the halls. It would be nice to have the quiet hours enforced somehow? Other than that it was really amazing.

Unmanned front desk and entry code system for rooms and building entry doesn't work. We were constantly locked out of our room and the building and had to call and wait for help. Room was stuffy and no ventilation. When a hotel puts ear plugs in the rooms you know they have a noise problem. Will not return.

Very very loud! Quiet time 10pm to 7am but for any kids or light sleepers I do not recommend this place. Common area open to all and people sitting and chatting amplified so can hear everything. Ear plugs provided by lodge, not a good sign. Also no central air and we were there during a heat wave, floor fans provided but did little to help, especially in the loft area were kids “slept”. Fridge is a good size and small continental breakfast small but adequate.

Recently stayed here during the end of March only for a night and it was definitely amazing… great location, free parking with plenty of space. Rooms were super cozy, clean and spacious with a smart TV. They also offer a light complimentary breakfast in the morning. Closest accommodations to the ski resort from town so don’t have to drive far after a long ski day. Will definitely be staying here next time I’m in Golden.

Great little hotel but a good distance from any dining or entertainment. The staff are wonderful and the hotel is clean but until they upgrade the heating system it's either very hot 25⁰ or very cold 16⁰ in the rooms and there isn't a way for the staff to set a happy medium. The hotel lacks a lot of amenities that other offer at this price such as breakfast (beyond muffins), hot tub, gym, etc. They sell some cool swag at the front desk if you want to remember your stay with a souvenir but the prices are laughable on most items. There's plans to open new buildings but until Basecamp invests into this building there is better value elsewhere in Golden.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the room was very used and didn’t seem clean. This property needs an update and higher cleanliness standards.
