SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Gold Beach

A comfortable place but they need to have ice machines on every floor not just the 3rd floor! Too many stairs!

Charming seaside location, a little dated, but still very affordable and well maintained. Stayed on the first floor, room was big and short walk to the beach with deck and water view. Comfortable bed, nice pool & hot tub. Friendly staff. Only compliant is more space is needed in the inside breakfast area. Guests had to wait for inside seating.

I stayed at this hotel based on proximity to the beach & that it was a "Best Western." The proximity was great, everything else was terrible. The bed was so old and uncomfortable, you could see a deep canyon in the mattress when you crawled out of it, the noise level inside the room is astonishing, I could hear my neighbors on all sides as if there was paper between us, there was old coffee and MOLD left in the coffee pot, there was no functioning ice maker onsite, soda had to be purchased at the front desk, Coke, Pepsi, or Rootbeer. I will definitely never stay here again, and will reconsider using "Best Western as a standard in the future - they obviously aren't what they once were.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. It is an older hotel but was always clean and comfortable. This stay was a real surprise. Our room was dirty. We found several pieces of trash under television credenza, between night stands and bed. The rug was dirty and sticky in some places. Fan in bathroom didn’t work. Outside grounds need attention. It appears that a complete makeover should be done. The Hotel is just not up to Best Western standards. This is a tough review to make because the hotel staff is excellent.

Hotel was…meh. Service was lacking. Check-in was a hassle and I felt the staff member made every single thing difficult. I wanted to use a different credit card than the one on my account and it was a hassle. I felt like we were bothering her by being there. Pillows were terrible. When I tried to make coffee in room, there was coffee left over from previous guest. (Totally gross) I tried to get coffee in the breakfast room and they didn’t have sweetener beyond sugar…it wasn’t a good stay. View from room was nice and beach access was good. Beyond that…we will not be staying there again.

The wooden furniture in our room had the veneer peeling off and the varnish chipping. Hair (not ours) was in bathroom sink & floor & floor needed a good scrubbing. Chairs in room were dirty and one was ripped. Looked like they went to local Salvation Army and pulled them out of the dumpster. When I mentioned this to front desk I was told it was an Economy Best Western.

This should be a crime to charge this much for a room here!!! We had a room on the very bottom level. Room 508. We had to walk down stairs to the corridor where the rooms are. The stairs that lead down were filthy and worn. There were spiders all along the walls. The ceiling was very low and the hallway was very narrow. The room was very outdated. The carpet needed to be replaced, there was something stuck on the ceiling over the bed. The curtain rod was bent when we opened the curtain. There was dirt on the floor in a pile in the bathroom. The sink was cracked. The room smelled like mold coming out if the A/C.

We arrived at the property on Christmas eve paying a premium for our jetted tub. To our surprise upon arrival, we were informed that the jetted tubs do not work. The sole purpose of doing a long trip was to enjoy the view with the jetted tub. With no other option left, we had to move forward with staying at the property without the amenities provided at the full price. If the facilities mentioned are not available then do not display them on your website and misguide someone’s expectations. Wifi is extremely poor and connectivity is poor.

Very tired room. We stayed the day after Christmas so not many guests. Quiet. Curtains in the room will let in plenty of light in the morning. You’ll be getting up with the chickens in the summer.
