施洛斯埃伯斯泰因飯店(Schloss Eberstein)

Op Schloss Eberstein vinden veel evenementen en trouwerijen plaats. Wij wilde een rustig verblijf, dus belde ik de dag ervoor of er iets dergelijks zou plaatsvinden want anders zoeken we wat anders. Zou geen probleem zijn en geen overlast veroorzaken. 1ste dag zou er een trouwerij zijn met max. 20 mensen (geen hinder van ondervonden) dag erna zou er bussiness meeting zijnet 30 personen. Ze garandeerde ons dat we konden boeken, want er zou geen overlast zijn. Het was geen meeting, het was een jubileumfeest van dat bedrijf. Keiharde muziek in de middag op de binnenplaats. House muziek wel te verstaan. Ze mochten ook hun eigen muziekbox ervoor gebruiken. De ellende was om 22.30.uur nog niet afgelopen. 2 keer naar de receptie gegaan. Die snapte ons wel en gingen de gasten naar binnen sturen. Maar vanaf 11 uur in de ochtend aan het zuipen, die mensen hou je niet binnen. Uiteindelijk 12 uur in de avond was het afgelopen. Wij wilde om 22.00 uur slapen want wilde vroeg vertrekken. Volgende ochtend bij de receptioniste... zij wisten echt niet dat dat bedrijf voor een feest kwamen... er waren wel ballonnen opgehangen en er kwam in de middag een grote taart met vuurwerk erop en ze mochten een eigen box meenemen, maar ze wisten van niks. Het gebeuren was exact onder onze kamer op een binnenplaats. Menig hotel in Amsterdam is het nog rustiger. De receptioniste die daar kennelijk de lakens uitdeelde blafte tijdens onze discussie toen ik zei dat ik die nacht niet ga betalen nog een personeelslid af die een opdracht kreeg van haar. Deze dame heeft zichzelf zo'n 10 keer tegengesproken. O en in Duitsland hoeft het pas om 23.00 uur stil te zijn, dus wat kunnen zij dan doen aan geluidsoverlast.... dus ga je naar dit hotel dan is het toegestaan om keihard muziek af te spelen waar je maar wil. Jammer dat de receptioniste continu de strijd aan wilde gaan ipv fatsoenlijk te reageren. Wij reizen veel en nog nooit heb ik een review geschreven over een hotel. De rest van het personeel is overigens heel aardig, maar er hangt daar een zichtbare ansgtcultuur en hoe zij personeel afblaft dan kan ik me dat goed voorstellen. Verder mooie plek en bij het restaurant erg vriendelijk en zo ook de schoonmaakster die we spraken. En wil je feesten, schreeuwen en keihard op krukken slaan dan ben je daar helemaal op je plek...

Het is een uitstekend hotel. Pas gerenoveerd. Mooie kamers. Lift aanwezig. Met rolstoel of rollator kan men overal komen. Kelder restaurant met auto bereikbaar. Goed ontbijt. Bijzonder gastvrij en vriendelijk personeel. Alsof je er al jaren komt, zo klantgericht. Uitzonderlijke ervaring. Kosten: value for money. Het omrijden waard. Reclame voor het Zwarte Woud. Ik overdrijf niet. Heb honderden hotels beoordeeld in 42 jaar tijd in heel Europa en dit hotel behoort bij de top tien. Het Werner restaurant is klasse. 1 Michelin ster. Uitstekende wijnkaart

This is a restaurant with a hotel as an afterthought. We arrived at noon, knowing that the normal arrival time is 3pm. The hotel was not full the night before, but instead of trying to help, their attitude is "sorry you will wait until 3pm". They pressured us to eat at their restaurant until we said NO we will decide later! Turns out that there is no elevator, with many steep steps to our room. If you have knee or back problems DO NOT STAY HERE! NO a/c as promised. Plusses: The room was large, with windows that opened. The view was excellent. There was ample parking. Minuses: The shades did not keep out the sun so I got up at 5:30 am. We stayedfor 2 nights only because we prepaid. They did not clean the room at all while we were there. No pool, no sauna, no workout room, no coffee machine, no microwave. Why they get 4 stars is completely beyond me. The breakfast was average at best, and not as good as many 3 stars we stayed at. Needless to say we will NEVER think of staying here again.

Das Hotel ist klein, aber fein. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Sie passen sich gut in das alte Gebäude ein, ohne ihm den Charme zu nehmen. Die Angestellten sind stets bemüht und sehr zuvorkommend. Auch wird hier "haustierfreundlich" ernst genommen. Das will bei 2 Irischen Wolfshunden auch etwas heißen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war zwar übersichtlich, aber von guter Qualität. Daher 5 von 5 Sternen.

We visited this property in a couple of weeks ago for one night. We travelled out of our way to stay at this castle, based on the website and reviews. We rented two rooms - one for my husband and I and one for our daughter. It was 15 Euros for a cab from the train station to the Schloss. Plainly, our room resembled nothing that was shown on the website. The bed was semi-comfortable, but not luxurious as depicted. The couch was broken down and uncomfortable to sit on; and couch pillows were old. Other furniture in the room was dated - again nothing like the pics on the website. We received an email stating that the restaurant was closed on the day of our arrival. The desk clerk was helpful in getting us checked in but that's where it ended. We were looking for a restaurant to eat at (as we checked in at 4pm), and the clerk was minimally helpful. The best she did was decipher the German website when we ordered pizza (pizza in Germany! bleh.). I could tell there were two other people in the back, but neither offered any help. Turns out that there were only 4 rooms rented out of the entire castle, so certainly not full or busy. Breakfast was just ok; the waitress at breakfast was attentive and kind. Would not book this "castle" hotel again. It seemed like it's really more of a venue for weddings and gatherings rather than a true hotel environment. I am sorry I have to write this review, but we were SO disappointed.

Meine Lebensgefährtin und meine Wenigkeit besuchten am 21.08.2021 Schloss Eberstein zum Abendessen in der Schloss-Schänke. Der Empfang durch einen Kellner war sehr freundlich, was wir allerdings danach erleben mussten, war eine Unverschämtheit, wie ich sie noch nie erlebte. Der Kellnerin, welche uns bediente sah man schon an dass sie keine Lust hatte, denn sie war extrem unfreundlich. Wir bestellten eine Vorspeise, welche echt der Hammer war, sie schmeckte einfach nur großartig. Zum Hauptgang hatten wir beide Wiener Schnitzel bestellt und ich muss sagen, dass ich noch nie in meinem Leben so ein miserables Schnitzel gegessen habe. Der Dame an unserem Nachbartisch muss es wohl ebenso ergangen sein, denn sie beschwerte sich in einer überaus freundlichen Form bei der eben genannten Kellnerin, welche extrem unfreundlich reagierte, den Teller der Dame trotzig wegnahm und beleidigt und motzig von dannen zog. Als ich mit meinem Essen fertig war, stellte ich den Teller auf die Seite, wo er nicht lange stand, denn die Bedienung kam und nahm den Teller mit einem bösartigen Blick mit ohne zu fragen ob es denn geschmeckt hatte. Bei einem anderen Kellner beschwerte ich mich über das Schnitzel und die extrem unfreundliche Kellnerin. Der Kellner nahm die Beschwerde wohlwollend entgegen und entschuldigte sich vielmals für das Fehlverhalten der Kellnerin und die schlechte Qualität des Schnitzels. Er brachte uns ein Getränk, welches aufs Haus ging und entschuldigte sich nochmals in aller Form. Leider scheinen die Köche zwar eine gebratene Gänsestopflebe usw, zubereiten zu können, aber ein einfaches Schnitzel oder gescheite Bratkartoffeln bekommen sie nicht mehr auf die Reihe. Für den Fall, dass wir diese großartige Location erneut besuchen, lassen wir uns bestimmt nicht mehr von dieser unfreundlichen und unmotivierten Kellnerin bedienen. Leider ist mir der Name der Kellnerin entfallen doch sie war klein, dick und bissig.

This is a fantastic place to stay at the edge of the Schwarzwald. We had an excellent time at the castle. I had the local food sampler, “ Baden Happas” and local Bier while overlooking the valley and vineyards. We had a family sized suite with three rooms and a private garden and outdoor dining “ cabin” that must be outstanding in the winter, with a wood stove. Yes, it is not perfect as a hotel, but the scenery out my window was priceless. Yes, there were many steps to climb to our suite in the gatehouse which was an authentic fortress building with gun slits that were plugged and a “ hell hole” evident from the tunnel below. We loved it. There is no air conditioning, but in August, on the mountain, it wasn’t needed. Yes, I wish there were screens on the windows, but that would alter the view. Screenless windows are fairly common in European places where we have stayed. We had two great hikes right from the castle. One led through the vineyard to the forest in well marked trails. We hike often, so the trails and steps were not a problem. We drove through the mountain forest to Hohenbaden, a ruined castle that was great, as was the drive. We had lunch in nearby Gernsbach, at a riverside bier garten that was excellent. People with knee and leg problems, this is not a place for you. It would be difficult. Epicureans, hikers, and wine lovers- this is your heaven!

Lovely hotel, very clean and special, the staff is very nice and caressing about the customers. Suite room with king size bed, minibar and air conditioning. Shower is just excellent. Restaurant has the best views and good variety. 2 km to the town and many hiking routes from there.

During our trip, we stayed at several castles. Schloss Eberstein was one of the most recent and updated of these stays. Rooms were modern and quite large. There wasn't a lot of the castle to investigate, but it did have great views. I was a bit suspicious of the restaurant since they had us captive (long drive to alternatives). They had two - one a very expensive starred establishment (Werner's) and the less exclusive Restaurant Schloss-Schänke, which we enjoyed.
