瓦薩度假村(Le Vasa Resort)

Gorgeous little resort with a real local feel. My husband and I stayed there for 2 night when we first arrived in Samoa. It’s very close to the airport so great for when you land in an evening. Had a lovely Samoan massage with a gorgeous view one of the mornings. Food was great although service at times could be slow but that didn’t really matter. Will stay again

Le Vasa was a strange place. Certainly, the location is great - near the ferry wharf to Savaii and Faleolo airport and also close to the Giant Clam sanctuary. The hotel itself is quite nice with a row of bungalows facing the harbor and several hotel rooms - we stayed in a nice room next to reception. The outdoor bar and restaurant was quite nice also; the bartender prepared lovely cocktails. Charlie and Antonio took us to the clam sanctuary, which was terrific. So: why not a higher rating? There is clearly strife between the staff and the owner and we could sense the tension. The staff were walking around on pins and needles. Unlike the many other places we stayed during our three weeks in Samoa, the owner never once came out to greet her guests or acknowledge us. In fact, she typically stayed hidden in the office (where we could hear constant arguing) or if she came out, sat at a table with her back to us where she castigated the staff in front of the guests. This atmosphere made for a very uncomfortable stay at Le Vasa. If this kind of thing doesn't bother you then consider a stay at Le Vasa. But if it does, there are plenty of other hotels on Upolu...

Le Vasa has beautiful grounds, the pool is nice, big and refreshing. We had a superior room and it was big enough for my family of 5. Soraya was very accommodating with helping me with my reservation and changes that happened due to a mishap with flight arrangements. thank you Soraya. We loved how the room was right over the ocean, so you walk out of your room to the view of the ocean and Savai'i island, breathtaking every morning. The shower had hot water with great water pressure. You just have to ask to turn the hot water on. There is a mini-fridge and small kitchenette. The issue(s) we had was that there was no breakfast included, a lot of other resorts have breakfast included. But no meals or drinks were included on the price. The distance is nice from the airport but about an hour out from town. Lagoon was really muddy so we couldn't even access it. Also, I felt we were being a bit jipped on being charged for various fees. We had a family member visit us and brought us dinner, but because we couldn't all fit comfortably in our room, we sat by the beach on the tables and they charged us $150 tala. Because we brought outside food, they charged us. When they originally approached us about it, they told us $100 tala and when they came back, they said it would be $150.00 tala. We spent more than $150 on food and drinks for the whole stay, you would think they would waive that outside food fee. When I checked out, they double charged me $270 tala and an extra $100 tala for an airport transfer that we didn't even use. Both items, I wouldn't have known if I didn't ask them, they would've got away with those extra charges. If you are looking for exceeding customer service, you will not find it here. They will help you with what they have available but if you have any needs that they cannot provide, they pretty much just tell you to go find it in town. Not suggestions on where to go - and you have to be mindful, that you are not familiar with the area so you have no idea where you are going. Customer service needs a lot of work. I had asked if there were any adapter plugs we could use for the night just to get us to the next day, and we were told "no, we are out". And that's pretty much all I got. No help on where to find them, nothing. And then she just started at me like, ok anything else? Bottom line - it's a nice resort far away from anything if that is what you are looking for. If you don't want to use the restaurant, you will need to buy from town which is an hour away. And double check you check out bill and make sure you question all the charges, so they don't get you for any extra $370.00.

Fine for an overnight stay between islands as handily located but wouldn’t want to stay for my whole holiday. Room was clean. Bed not the comfiest, mattress very hard and thin. Booked the room with an external bathroom which was fine but again could have been made better had there been some soap and a hand towel in there. Also no hot water. Again they did say on the info that we could go and tell them if this was the case and they would change the batteries but maybe they could check it on the morning before new arrivals because once you’ve started having a shower it’s a bit of a faff to get out and go and find someone!? As others have mentioned the food service is very slow and the food was hit and miss… some excellent some below par. Overall the stay was fine but given the price I would expect it to be a bit better.

My partner and I stayed here one night before we could ferry to Savai'i. Location wise this is great as it's close to the airport as well as the ferry and priced okay for a very short stay. Beautiful view of the water as well, great pool and places to relax outside. Our room and service experience was disappointing however. We stayed in a lagoon view bungalow for 2, this has a detached bathroom - which would be fine except it isn't mentioned that this is "shared". Would suggest this is updated on website to manage other guests expectations as this was a surprise for us. Secondly the shower didn't actually turn on at all, we couldn't use it and after asking about this 3 x times we gave up. The light bulb in the toilet needed replacing again, this was fine for the day but not at night where we used phone lights instead... we were told upon leaving they were waiting for maintenance. We were lucky this was a single night stay. With some more love this would be a great place to stay.

A group of 5 of us stayed at Le Vasa on our way back to NZ after a fishing trip in American Samoa. it was the perfect end to a holiday and a great chance to unwind in paradise. The staff were great, the facilities were great and the rooms were great. i would highly recommend it

I had the pleasure of stay 2 months and half in "Le Vasa Resort". I enjoyed every moment of this time. If you are looking for a real Samoan experience this is the right place. The staff is very friendly, kind and available to help you with whatever needs you could have. The rooms are clean and tidy. Plus on top of that, in a very relaxed atmosphere there is a nice restaurant with fresh and well done food close to a great pool. I highly recommended for your holiday!

Don't know where to start with this review! I organised a family get away and had a great experience emailing back and forth with the team. The resort couldn't have been more accommodating....now I see this was just to secure the booking as NOTHING could have prepared me for the disappointment of our stay. During our stay: 1. My niece and nephew were chased by 4 x dogs that were NOT on leads and my niece ended up getting bitten by one of the dogs....the owner was there and her response "you need to stop screaming".....NO WORD OF A LIE..THAT WAS THE OWNERS RESPONSE!!! This said all while my niece was bleeding and crying. My sister took her to the hospital to get a tetanus shot. The hospital didn't have any antibiotics so we took my niece into the city the following day to purchase it. The owner did not ONCE come around to check on my niece to see how she was doing, she did not offer to reimburse any of the charges. I instead went on the last day to demand a refund for my niece's hospital bill of $36TALA. My niece was to scared to ask for more but at the VERY LEAST the owner should've come to apologise. We actually didn't even see the owner for the remainder of our stay after that! 2. One of the bungalows air-con didn't work and after the second day of it still not working, I went to the front desk to request it be looked at. I was told that the maintenance person would have a look at it same day. I returned the next morning to the same bungalow only to find out that the air-con was switching on and off by itself. Again - returned to the front desk to request maintenance and assured it would be and the next day, still nothing. At this point - pointless as the family members in that room were leaving the next day. 3. In another bungalow where I had another family group staying, one of the wooden planks on the balcony gave way and my brother-in-laws foot went straight through. As a result, he lost one of his shoes as it'd come off and fallen in the water. 4. Our stay with Le Vasa was broken up into two legs as we went across to Savai'i for one night. I had my sister check out for my husband and I on the first leg of our trip (Thurs night) to ensure we weren't charged as we were in the city and their office closes at 10pm and our boat was leaving at 6am in the morning. I was STUNNED to find out that I had additional charges incl. an extra $100TALA for beers that were ORIGINALLY charged to my sisters room but when my sister noted they were not her beers, I was automatically charged it because I was the primary on the booking. We returned back to Le Vasa on Sat and I headed straight to the front desk to dispute the charge (I need to point out that having spoken to our group, everyone confirmed they were charging drinks to their own room on the night in question). We recently stayed in an ocean view bungalow with five adults and we found that the rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant and ate there every night. We found the staff to be friendly and hard working. We spent many hours relaxing in the fales by the water and enjoyed having drinks delivered to us by the bar staff! We also enjoyed having a nighttime dip in the pool. The location is beautiful - always something to see with boats passing by. The resort is also close to the wharf and the airport. We will definitely stay here again!
