We booked through the hotels website for an advertised Autumn Escape, unfortunately our initial experience booking was not very good as it appeared the reservations staff were not familiar with what was advertised in connection with the Roof Top Spa Access, and having booked to use this on day of arrival we were subsequently told that, contrary to what the web site showed, we could only use this on the day of departure. It appeared that this restriction was included if you were making a general booking but it did not show on the Autumn Escape deal booking pages. This change resulted in some inconvenience in having to change personal arrangements as it was a midweek booking and work commitments had to be re-arranged. On check out staff were apologetic for the misunderstandings and kindly removed the service charge from our bill. We booked a room in the Follifoot Wing which was spacious and nicely furnished with a large ensuite bathroom with a freestanding bath and large shower. The room was clean and comfortable. The Autumn Escape included lunch and a cocktail in the Clocktower Restaurant, lunch was very nice but the cocktail was a little uninspiring. We opted to take dinner in the Horto Restaurant, again food and service was very good. We now had our Roof Top Spa access on our day of departure, it was extremely busy and as the weather was wet most people stayed inside which resulted in all the beds being taken up and nowhere to really sit and relax. We made use of most of the facilities, steam room, sauna, swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, there was also an oxygen room which we sat in but could not detect any effect and another room that had bright lights which we did not make use of but seemed to be quite popular. Overall, leaving aside the booking issues, we found Rudding Park to be a nice comfortable place to stay.
