Courtyard Exeter Sandy Park

Could have been fantastic but let down by............... ..........They are lucky enough to have an absolutely massive outside car park but there are height restrictions, you have to press an intercom to get it lifted - but no one answers it. .......... Car park has a £12 per night charge. Unnecessarily expensive ........... Wifi is chargable, have we gone back 20 years?? ...........After comparing a few places I selected this place because it looked to have a fantastic rooftop bar - only to find out it's closed on Sundays and Mondays. ............ Breakfast is absolutely fantastic, the chef knows his onions, and his eggs!

Beautiful new hotel and lovely staff. The rooms are fantastic, myself and my daughter really enjoyed our stay. It was so relaxing and the gym is the best equipped hotel gym, I have found to date. Very clean hotel and a warm welcome from the staff. Will be back again!

Superb place compared to price.

The hotel is located near the Sandy Park Rugby ground and conveniently located near the M5. If you're going to the rugby, then that's a bonus, but if you're not, and you go on a match day, you may find that it's somewhat busy. I was surprised that over-night parking wasn't free for guests of the hotel. So plan for an extra £12/night for parking. The IT didn't seems to be working correctly when paying for parking/breakfasts, which took over half an hour to sort out. it's a good job we weren't in a hurry. Breakfast at £12 per person was very good. It was particularly nice to see the cook preparing fresh fried eggs... much better than the rubbery eggs you often get at hotels. The room was good sized, very clean, and there were tea/coffee making facilities... a detail often lacking in hotels nowadays. Overall, I have rated the hotel three stars out of five. it would have got five if the parking had been free, and checking had been smoother.

We enjoyed our 4 day stay. Hotel is well positioned for the M5 although on the outer edge of the city. We ate twice in the restaurant which was of a high standard. Menu was good. Staff were engaging. I’d stay again.

The service from the front desk through to amazing John at breakfast (he kept us entertained with his dry sense of humour!) was exemplary. The hotel is very new (less than a year old) so everything inside is modern and it top condition. The only thing I would ask is for more egg choices at breakfast - having just scrambled egg without the option for fried/boiled/poached is a basic that I would expect a hotel of this class to offer. Other than that, we had a great stay over half term - thanks to all the staff.
