涼亭別墅飯店(Bower House Inn)

A relaxed meal for 4 in the conservatory dining room. 2 of us chose a roast diner ( choice of lamb, beef or ham) and 2 chose off the daily menu. The veggies with the roast were just right ( not too soft). The Cajun chicken was very well received - especially with the spicy chips! Feel that we had good value.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Bower House, comfortable rooms and an unrivaled brand of excellent hospitality right through from the restaurant to the bar. It is actually hard to get those walking boots on - you have to tear yourself away to enjoy he diverse surrounding walks which will also not disappoint. Highly recommended Mike & Fatima

10 of us stayed here for the best ever weekend. I simply cannot recommend enough. The rooms, the food, the beer, the wine and the breakfast were perfect, but the highlight was the welcome. And not just by the staff but the locals and their dogs! Every single part was perfect. And a huge thank you to the best barman we have ever met.

What a wonderful place this is. Location is beautiful but the staff, the atmosphere, food and warmth of all is outstanding. They are amazing and so kind to dogs. I can't wait to go back Thanks to all for an outstanding stay.

We had our wedding here on 29.4.2023. This has to be one of thee most amazing wedding venues ever. Right from the initial meeting through to the wedding day itself, the team were fantastic. We wanted a very informal and relaxed wedding and it couldn’t have been anymore perfect. The staff were incredible. I cannot name one or two who stood out because they were all absolutely brilliant. From the cleaning ladies (who spent the morning settling my nerves whilst they were working 😂) right through to the bar staff that we stayed up with until the small hours having a good natter with, to the manager who consulted me on everything but I could completely trust her to do what she thought was best, to the chefs who provided THE MOST amazing bbq I’ve had, to the breakfast staff bringing us water and coffee whilst getting ready and checking in on us, to the waiting on staff who brought everything out and looked after us! It made the day all absolutely PERFECT. The staff couldn’t have done enough for us and I am so pleased we chose The Bower. It really is a hidden gem. The rooms were fab and beds were lovely and comfy. Reception were happy to have rooms ready for us early for a few guests to arrive and get changed which was appreciate so much. Jo at reception must have been tearing her hair out Co ordinating all this but she did an amazing job. A few of our guests who are from Millom had never been to the bower before. They have said it’s an amazing place and they’re going to fetch their kids up for food and to play in the grounds. The kids absolutely loved the games that were provided and the play ground and enjoyed their day too. All in all if I could give this place 10 ⭐️ I would. Not one fault I could give it. We’re going to come back every month for a nice meal out, because the food is absolutely lovely. We have been before but we want to make it a more regular thing and support this business that helped us make our wedding day so perfect. Thank you all so much ❤️

We stayed in this very friendly hotel while we walked Scarfell Pike and Buttermere the food was excellent and the room was very clean. The staff were very helpful. They went an extra mile and returned the plugs I forgot to bring home. Location was excellent

What a great place, perfect for hiking up Scafell Pike, great food, staff are so helpful, they cannot do enough for you would defo come back, just brillant, some of these large hotel chains could learns lots from places like this - spot on

Gorgeous spot, lovely, welcoming staff, great food to fill hungry, weary teenage boys, fabulous beer garden and comfortable, clean rooms. The service was excellent for dinner, breakfast, drinks and the absolute icing on the cake: When I left my precious hiking boots behind in their boot room, Bower House Inn were happy to post them to me! Highly recommend and will happily return!

Great place to stay, the room is clean and cleaned every day, the food is amazing, every day fresh and the stuff very friendly and polite. Have a garden area where you can sit on a table and have a cold beer while watching the lanscape, have some kids play area, a small football field and a generous parking. A Tesla EV charger available but a bit expensive, £15 for an hour charge or £30 for full charge. The single, lets say, negative point of view is the way here, for several miles you are going to drive on an narrow road, where the 2 vehicles are passing very slowly and carreful in parallel, you risk to scratch your car on the side bushes (like I did) or hit the opposite car... Easy to travel and visit to some surrounfing lakes from this Inn, so in conclusion I do recommend it!
