庫柏鄉村旅館(Cooper's Country Lodge)

This is a new facility and is beautiful inside and out. There are lots of things that are good from the clean lines, the comfortable bed and cleanliness of the large room to the views of the bush at the back and the generous continental breakfast. There's a lovely separate lounge, extra cooking room and a guest laundry. But somehow they don't seem to have got it together in terms of what kind of guests they're expecting. It's expensive and you'd expect the typical guests to be travelling with wheeled luggage and eating out in restaurants (& therefore not needing a sink, microwave or fridge in their room). The car park is at the front of the block but the entrance to the rooms is at the back. So if like us you are self catering and travel with lots of bags not on wheels, you have to cart them all around the back. Each room has a microwave and small fridge but only a very small area to serve as a worktop or desk or eating area. We couldn't fit our food into the small freezer in the fridge in our room and there was a large fridge in the communal room but no freezer. We couldn't help but feel that the room layout could have given more space for preparing meals and an easy chair or two. Ah - but maybe they thought we could use the separate area at the end of the block which contains a lounge and large microwave/roasting oven to cook a meal (instead of in our room?). In addition there was strangely no stove top although there are pans available! Altogether a mixed up experience for us. Its expensive but the location is wonderful and eating breakfast with that stunning peaceful view amazing! And to top it all we had the place all to ourselves......

A few km out of Eromanga feels like the middle of the Outback, and Cooper’s is a great little oasis. Simple but comfortable, it’s a ten minute stroll from the Eromanga Museum of Natural History. Bird life abounds around it, along with kangaroos and lizards. A do-it-yourself breakfast is available in the guest kitchen. A great place to stay in the spot furthest from any ocean in Australia (according to the sign!)

Great accommodation - very clean and quite luxurious. Lovely to stay near the museum which was so interesting. A beautiful sunset and good to cook the dinner pack on the barbecue. Shared kitchen which was well-stocked. We bought the breakfast pack too although hadn’t realised that the overnight price includes a continental breakfast.

The rooms and breakfast are lovely, and unlike anything else for hundreds of kilometers. The price is excellent value for any location. We stayed for three nights - worth it for the views, the local bird watching sites and the quiet. And you are supporting the magnificent Eromanga Natural History Museum while you stay. We watched the stars out by the campfire one of the nights - a very memorable trip.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Eromanga. Highly recommend this accommodation. It has everything you need. It is spacious, clean and tidy and far surpassed our expectations. The bed was extremely comfortable too. You have basic cooking facilities within your unit but there is a separate area at the end of the units where you have full kitchen facilities including a larder packed with breakfast goodies. It was ideal as we wanted to visit the Museum which was just down the road. We stayed for 3 nights and we drove out along one of the back roads one night to get an amazing sunset.

Great 1 night stay, new, modern, very clean rooms. Breakfast included in our stay. Very relaxing sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and watching the sun set. Only down side was there was no hot water in any rooms from about 7pm onward. Get in early if you want a hot shower 1 minute to the museum, we were there for 9am tour and only us and another family. When we were leaving carpark was quite full and lots more people for the middle of the day tours. .

We stayed in the beach cottages on the grounds of the Natural History Museum. A truly beautiful location. They do cost a little more than the standard Coopers Lodge accommodation but well worth it. Two private rooms with a private BBQ and outdoor fire place. We enjoyed watching the kangaroos from our room and enjoyed our wine by the fire as the sun set. Loved our stay there. Sure it is a long way to Eromanga, but we’ll worth it. The museum tour is fascinating and the accommodation sensational. It gets cold, but that is ok, nothing a few red wines by the open fire wont fix.

Travelling for four weeks in Queensland, this lodge has to be the best we have experienced. And, a bonus is that you are in the middle of the Outback, with hardly a soul in sight. Four star, definitely. Large rooms with king bed, all amenities of a City 4/5 star hotel. Come and spend two nights here - you will talk about it for years.

The facilities were excellent: a superb bed!
