Stayed here whilst on business… Beautiful hotel on the outside with well maintained gardens… Inside slightly dated and could do with a small inves**ent but overall was lovely… Gym and pool was good

Lovely location, (pretty village) lovely grounds and impressive entrance. However, we weren’t in the main hotel. The room was large but old fashioned. The roof sloped at the sides which we banged our heads on several times. The window was small which made it stuffy and it was very dark, no main light in the bedroom only lamps. Bed was king size and comfortable. The room and bathroom was clean. We used the restaurant once for dinner and we had 2 breakfasts and the food was nice and reasonable priced. Breakfast was self service (as ours was included) with a good and plentiful variety. The staff were friendly and helpful but professional. We didn’t use the pool in the end as it meant going outside and back inside, as our room was not connected to a covered route to the pool. Nothing really to complain about but we did expect the room to be a bit more luxurious. Slightly overpriced for the room. I expect the price was based on the available amenities.

The establishment and staff are fantastic Kris who's the duty manager is a great manager but from there it goes down hill dramatically. The breakfast was cooked a week ago I'm sure, the afternoon meal was ok but service is thin and it's not the staffs fault they actually try but just not enough staff. The spa was like a kindergarten pool with no policing and became uninhabitable for a couple to relax and this was all day. The mattress in the room was what I'd consider close to concrete. This all stems down from cost cutting at the top and nothing to do with the staff like I say they was fantastic when that could be. It's such a shame as when you arrive you think your in for a amazing weekend only to compare to a Butlins stay.

Good intro upon arrival with a very friendly receptionist, although a bit information overload - almost forgot where room was by the time we’d been told everything else! Thankfully a map is provided as it seems a bit of a maze to begin with, but actually it’s not that hard to get around. Due to the age and the nature of the buildings there are a small staircases all over the place; not an issue if your mobility is ok - would be an issue for those requiring a more accessible place to stay. We were in Room 201 - right above main entrance. Automatic door mechanism for the main door below was audible throughout the evening but wasn’t a problem at night. The bed was big with what felt like a very thin duvet for this time of year (late Oct) but I was actually over-hot in the room, so no drama there. The room was itself was clean and well presented, but the furniture is a bit awkward, with a chair in front of the fridge. Didn’t use the TV so can’t comment on that. The bathroom was pretty small, but functional. Room service had forgotten to refill the shampoo, but I had my own in my wash bag, so not a problem. Didn’t really rate the shower gel etc. - there are much nicer smelling things in the supermarket than whatever brand it was. The spa was really busy when we arrived at 16:30 so avoid peak hours. The steam room had an odd unpleasant smell, so didn’t spend long in there. Didn’t eat our evening meal here, but breakfast was good - but no black pudding or poached eggs :(

The best of the hotel is a location, the hotel is going through a refit which it needs. The food is very limited in options and very expensive for the offer and not that good. Some staff were very good and engaging others were surly and uninterested. Due to some unthoughtful guests the sound proofing in the room were found to be inadequate

The place is pretty amazing, the garden, the old part of the house, but a bit dated. I wanted to sit outside and have a drink but the bar in the main house was closed. The lady at Reception wasn't sure but she told me to go to the Tempo bar. There was one person behind the bar, completely overwhelmed with a queue of people waiting to order so i abandoned the idea of a drink. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was a very good size and clean but a bit dated and in need of modernisation, especially the bathroom. Due to some refurbishment happening breakfast was a bit disorganised and not great looking but the selection was ok.

Following the recent refurbishments, Breadsall Priory has returned to it's previous excellent standard. New staff are all learning their skills and providing very good service.

A beautiful place, good to see the history displayed in the corridors. Great gardens which we enjoyed walking through with the squirrels. Sadly the restaurant let itself down at both the evening meal then breakfast. Thirty two pounds for a pork chop, chips and rocket with no sauce was way too much. We had to ask for sauces. The following morning the coffee machinecwas reported to several members of staff as not working, one of tgem the manager but it took ovrr 20 minutes begore it was attended too. By the time itcwas working we had finished eating. Thats after having to wait for more eggs to be cooked. Only about 10 were brought out so they ran out straight away as customers were waiting for them. People were also waiting at the toaster for more bread.

This hotel from the outside looks 10/10 but as soon as you step inside you soon realise its not so great. Wallpaper missing from the walls. Lights not working in rooms. Tv turning off. Every 30 seconds. We went for dinner in the restaurant. There was only Two of us but this took over 2.5 hours. I say two of us but we was joined by a mouse. But when we told the staff they didn't care and didn't do anything about it. Apprently because there in the countryside this is normal. The grounds are lovely from the outisde looks amazing. But could do with some money well spent. Maybe some mouse traps.
