I do not know how to put this nice, but I will try, this place should be vanished and build a new one instead, because even refurbishing it I do not think can save the place. and when you build the new place take care to: - add A/C - make the rooms not smelling - build a proper bathroom where you can regulate the shower temperature to not come only cold or super hot - add some proper bed sheets and a decent mattress PS. when you are going to demolish the place please do it together with the electrical or whatever tower from the front which block the View you are advertising in Internet

This is a comfortable homestay with nice rooms with fan, mosquito net and fridge. No aircon but you probably won't need it. Breakfast was good, laundry can be done for 600LKR/kg, and the owner and staff were friendly. Unfortunately, be wary about trusting the photos on The Rock Face website and booking sites. I've been to Ella before. This visit I wanted accommodation near the main street, with a killer valley and Rock view. The Rock Face appeared to tick the boxes. We reserved a Deluxe King Room with Ella Rock View. When we arrived at the hotel we were given tea and asked to pay for the room in advance of seeing it. Then we were taken to the room. Our room was on the first floor and unfortunately the balcony only has a tiny peak of Ella Rock. Mostly it's a view of a large eletrical pylon, and the concrete wall of a hotel being built where the view might have been in previous years. The owner laughed and said "we should take Ella Rock View out of the room description!". It is possible that rooms on the top floor/second cloor have a better and more unimpeded view, but those aren't the "Ella Rock View" room we were given. If you want great views, you can do much better in other accommodation in Ella. The hotel's locafion is just 100m from central Ella restaurants and shops, but note that like many Ella hotels, the driveway up (and shortcut walk) are both very steep. For us, the false advertising and lack of promoted views were the memory we leave with.

The room was very clean and comfortable .view is brilliant.little adam’s peak and ella rock see in the room.bathroom is very nice.The location was very good.the owner is very helpful.They have good facilities.😍I recommend this hotel. The Rock Face Ella 😍

Camera pulita e fresca, colazione buona e soddisfacente, personale gentile e disponibile. Dal balcone della mia camera si vedeva Ella Rock. Ottimo posto in cui pernottare anche perché vicinissimo alla via principale!

My experience at the rock face was wonderful. The bedrooms are really comfortable and they have all you need. They all come with a lovely balcony. Most importantly, the host are really kind and welcoming, always with a smile, and they are open to help you with everything you ask. Also, if you opt for having dinner there the quality and taste of the food is amazing. Please try the curry :)

Very clean, breakfast was good. The hot water not so good and toilet seat damaged. Also it is up a steep hill so no good if lots of luggage. Our van driver managed to drive within 50 yds to locked gate which we got through at the side. We took just enough clothes for the 2 nights. We were shown a very nice room on the 2nd floor which looked new but it was up 2 flights of stairs that had no handrails and we were worried about that. So took a standard room on the same floor. At £9 a night can't complain. Lady owner did our washing 400lkr per kilo - paid 200 in Kandy? It was a bit of a climb but road led straight to the middle of town for dinner. Staff were very nice. Views are good.
