For our honeymoon we (unfortunately) spent 6 nights at the Lihim Resort. The resort failed totally to live up to its promises (its own pictures, website and various reviews) and we were very disappointed with the Resort. The facilities and infrastructure of the hotel are not well maintained and are not at all up to the standard of a 5 star hotel. As mentioned in many reviews before, the funicular did not work either during our stay (probably no longer in operation anymore, good luck if you have the villa on the top…). You can see that they are saving money everywhere and not investing anymore. The toilet in our villa stank regularly and they tried to suppress the smell with an intensive room spray. The shower and shampoo provided were topped up with water each time, again a far cry from a luxury resort. The restaurant wasn't any better. The quality of the food was a disaster. Both the selection at the breakfast buffet and the dishes on the regular menu were simply bad (luckily there are great restaurants in El Nido). The butler service was just annoying, we were flooded with whatsapp messages all the time and it's really annoying to have to check all the details on your smartphone. The incompetence of the staff was also a constant companion during our stay. On the day of departure, we were assured that the deposit could not be deducted from the total bill and that the amount would be released immediately. As soon as we left we were charged the amount and we have been trying to get it back for over a month now, unfortunately to no avail. El Nido is very beautiful but next time definitely not in Lihim. NOT RECOMMENDED!
