魔力城堡飯店(The Witchery by the Castle)

Wow - absolutely breath taking. We stayed here for two nights for my 30th birthday and had the most incredible time. We stayed in the Old Rectory and every detail was absolutely perfect. The room was so beautiful with so much going on but absolutely spotlessly clean. It was an amazing experience. We ate breakfast on two days and had dinner on one day and wow, what can I say! The food was incredible and all the members of staff were so lovely and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location is incredible and really set the bar high for my first trip to Edinburgh!

This place was recommended to us by a local. It’s cute and spooky. The staff is amazing, and the food is incredible. If you want delicious food and a great atmosphere, this is the place for you. Perfect for a date night. We had the crab cake and raviolo. The crab cake was light and tangy with some citrus flavor, and the raviolo was savory. We had the venison and vegetable lasagne as our meals, and the venison was my favorite. The cocktails were extraordinary. I will definitely visit again when we are back in Edinburgh.

We had an incredible stay at The Witchery. We stayed in the Old Rectory suite and it exceeded our expectation and then some! The suite was huge with a bedroom, dining area, lounge and a very large bathroom. Fantastically presented but with superb modern touches too (my wife loved the GHD hair straighteners and Dyson hairdryer!). Plus, not forgetting the chilled champagne was waiting for us on arrival. From check in to check out we loved every minute.

We had an unforgettable night in the Witchery. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the atmosphere was magic. Our room The Sempill was like stepping back in time in all the nicest ways. Nicest suite we have stayed in. We will definitely be back. The whole place is enchanting.

I was lovingly treated to the champagne afternoon tea by my boyfriend for my birthday, and oh my word was it just STUNNING! the service from the start was just lovely and so welcoming. The afternoon tea was one of the BEST ones I've ever had, and I've been to a few, mostly in London. I highly recommend booking here and treating yourself. The decor was absolutely stunning too!

Unfortunately I missed this much anticipated lunch due to illness but my husband and 4 friends absolutely loved it. Food was amazing, such wonderful flavours and the resaurant was fabulous and atmospheric. A great experience they all agreed. The Witchery has been excellent as they have agreed to extend the value of a voucher we bought for this experience as I was ill and sadly missed out so will be back very soon!

A must for time travellers. Comfortable, comforting and steeped in history. We stayed in the library suite and adored the place. The bath is fabulous and the decor throughout is inspirational for those of us who love opulent patterns and materials. The staff were second to none; breakfast was everything. The only problem, we couldn't stay an extra few days! Thankyou Witchery and the spirits that support you!

We booked a night at the Witchery in Edinburgh to celebrate my 65th birthday and retirement and so glad we did. A truly amazing place, a bucket list experience. My daughter, an avid book reader, stayed in the library suite and my wife and I, the guardroom suite. To say we were overwhelmed when entering the suites is an understatement. They were unbelievable and have to be seen to be believed. The atmosphere of the room and the decor takes you back to a bygone age. Complementary Champagne and chocolates awaited us in both our suites on arrival which was most welcome as was the totally unexpected note from the Witchery management wishing me a happy birthday and retirement. (A souvenir from our visit to treasure) The food in the restaurant was to die for, a fine dining experience, Seared scallops, lemon sole and venison and haggis wellington all perfectly cooked and served quickly. The staff in the Witchery were absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, they were always helpful, efficient and friendly and certainly not stuffy. Our stay at the Witchery was to be a “one off” experience for us but how can anyone not want to return again to this incredible place… Wow!! We certainly will return some time in the future, we need to experience staying in the other suites!! A 5 star review does not do the Witchery justice, this has to be one of the best, if not THE best, place we have ever stayed at.
