Various issues encountered during our stay. For instance, serving of out of date food (see picture, use by 24 served on 26) and room door left unlocked and open after cleaning. Issues raised and discount promised. Refund still not issued.

We booked this as an anniversary treat and weren't disappointed. The service is attentive but not intrusive, The little extra touches such as the butlers pantry by your rooms is wonderful. Our room the Yellow Browed Warbler overlooked the gardens and estuary - stunning views. Our meal in the Pool House was exemplary - again wonderful service and amazing views The only '*******' which we have fed back to the hotel, are that the bedside lights hang too low and can easily be 'headbutted', and the plug sockets for the dressing table were pretty inaccessible. However these can be lived with and we had a thoroughly wonderful time - and meeting Chef Michael Caines was an added bonus

Staying and dining at Lympstone Manor was simply amazing. Our room was upgraded for our stay and the view over the grounds and estuary were stunning. Our dining experiences was incredible, the staff are friendly and attentative and the service was exceptional. I would definitely recommend staying and dining here.

We booked 1 night to mark our 40th wedding anniversary. The booking was easy and efficient. Due to health concerns we enquired about stairs and lifts (no lifts) and was accommodated in a different room which didn't compromise our booking and view. Staff were kind and professional in understanding the situation. We chose to eat in the pool house. great food and service with a beautiful view. The grounds are amazing with lovely walks. the room was so beautiful , bed extremely comfortable, outlook fantastic with binoculars in the room to use. Gin tray was lovely!! You couldn't really ask for more. Great service, beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, all in all a amazing memory for us to have.

Oh dear Michael! Only 4/5 from our visit. Suite great. Staff front of house great. But they were let down by kitchen service! We were contacted by front of house a week prior of our visit. 1915 for drinks, specifically 1945 to sit down. We sat down at the allotted time. And waited 1hr 15mins for first course. The front of house persistently apologised for delay but could not explain why!! When the food came out it was very good BUT we were 5 minutes from walking out! We have been frequent visitors to this location a testament to its usually quality service throughout. Please explain the lowering of kitchen ability to serve and I’ll be happy .

This is a fantastic place to stay. It’s our 3rd visit and equally as good as the two previous. The hotel, rooms and service are simply fantastic, as are the wonderful grounds. On top of that . . . . . the food - the signature tasting menu is incredible. Every course is as exceptional as the previous one and it really is quite an experience to try. On top of that, Michael is so lovely and friendly and just completes the experience. We’re already talking about when we can return and we only got home an hour a go :-)

Michael Cains visionary hotel lived up to all our expectations. The setting is beautiful and the attention to detail exceptional. Goes without saying the food was delicious. We enjoyed the ‘estuary/fish’ tasting menu and three delicious breakfasts. The team waiting and looking after the rooms were brilliant. Only one slight ****** in the dining room which marginally spoilt an otherwise perfect experience was a loud person nearby who spent half the evening shouting into his mobile phone. We were not the only people present who found this annoying . Perhaps a rule of no phones at dinner might be an idea?

Our stay at Lympstone Manor was magical. I chose this place to propose to my partner, surrounded by the manor's stunning beauty and outstanding service, enhanced by the staff's exceptional assistance in helping me plan my proposal. Both the lunch and dinner were delicious and a stunning setting, adding to the unforgettable experience. It's the perfect place for a special occasion, and we couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend it to anyone.

We were a small business group and experienced exceptional food and service. Sumptuous luxury rooms, heated pool beautiful gardens and vineyard. Definitely the place for a special visit or celebration. Lovely sculptures in the garden and restful setting above the river
