We spent 3 nights at Peartree Hill and found it perfect - very comfortable and clean with superb imaginative breakfasts. Our charming and helpful hosts gave us lots of useful advice on where to go and on restaurants. Very highly recommended

Everything was perfect, from the warm reception, through the architecture of the house and the magnificence of the room and bathroom to a superb breakfast in the morning. A wonderful place to stay with outstanding views! I recommend the full cooked breakfast with the Irish black butter, which is not butter at all. Thank you!

We have stayed on previous occasions and hope to stay again.Very hospitable hosts and we felt at home immediately. Beautifully presented bedroom and bathroom which contained lovely toiletries. A good range of local teas,coffee and sweet treats in the room. Delicious breakfast available on request. The B&B is situated in stunning countryside and is only a short drive toDundonald . We always leave feeling refreshed after a relaxing stay.

There are no words to express how wonderful Peartree Hill is but will try. From the point of contacting Avril who owns and runs Peartree Hill to make the booking through to checking out, the process was smooth. Prior to our visit, Avril provided lots of details including local eateries and places to visit which was helpful as this was our first visit to Northern Ireland. Avril is an absolutely lovely lady and her accommodation is second to none with all of the facilities that you require with the added bonus of the views. Once again, beautiful accommodation with a wonderful host and would like to take this opportunity to thank Avril for making our stay memorable.

Disappointed with policy. We had booked several nights and I came down with symptoms that could have been Covid (fortunately just bad bronchitis that took antibiotics to clear up) just before we were to arrive. I contacted them to let them know as they were very Covid-sensitive from the information I had received. They were appreciative we alerted them rather than just arriving and saying nothing as the owner has a 90+ elderly mom living with them - and preferred we not come stay while ill. They charged the full about $750 for 3-nights non-use even though we kept them germ-free, and they would offer no refund (not even partial)/no future credit and said they would be closed when I asked to rebook for September to apply some of the money. Insurance policy I had purchased to cover entire 10-week vacation would not cover as I did not have Covid, and they wouldn’t cover for bronchitis forced cancellation. I spent the days recovering at the Hyatt in Dublin where we would not infect anyone with germs. In the future I won’t be booking independent B&Bs and will use either AirBnb where I can get insurance thru Airbnb to cover or book a hotel with more liberal cancellation policies.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 days at the end of July and we were astounded! Though Peartree Hill is conveniently close to Belfast and many other places, we planned to take short road trips (4 hours round trip) all over Ireland during our stay to see as much of the country as possible. In hindsight, we are more than happy to have stayed at Peartree and have a commute over lodging anywhere closer to our destinations with a shorter drive. The stay was THAT enjoyable! We stayed in the Ballymagalf suite, which was very spacious and beautifully furnished (coming from an interior design graduate). The bathtub was a wonderful way to relax after a day of adventure, and the bed was quite comfortable! The room was cleaned and replenished every day, including the mini fridge with water and milk (for the tea). Our room faced beautiful rolling hills, and the adjacent property was a pasture with friendly cows who visited us daily. In addition to the suite, we had access to the dining area and a guest lounge. We had a door that opened to the outside with a river pebble run, bench, and a row of aromatic flowers. Avril and Ian, our hosts, were incredibly pleasant--they had recommendations for things to do each day and offered us whatever resources they had to make our trip special! We were offered a map and a pair of binoculars to watch seals at a place that was near a forest we were planning to visit that day--we had no idea seal watching was an experience we could have without Avril's suggestion. Breakfast was served in 3 courses with choices for each one: Avril is an amazing cook who sources her ingredients locally. Anything you eat will be delicious! You'll also have the choice to eat in your room or in the dining area that features large windows with a gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside. If you're lucky, you'll have the opportunity to meet their precious dog, Tilly. She is the sweetest girl! I am told she also enjoys herding sheep and cows who escape pasture every now and then. Before graduating in interior design, I worked at a bed and breakfast for 6 years, and a couple of hotels before that. I can say with certainty that Peartree Hill exceeded all expectations I had for our experience! If you're looking for lodging which provides privacy, repose, delicious food, and a personal touch from hosts who genuinely love what they do, Peartree Hill is where you should stay.
