溫諾克修爾飯店(The Winnock Hotel)

Couldn’t rate experience as it was bad. The place overbooks and can’t cope. Breakfast cold buffet was solely cereal ,prunes or grapefruit. No yoghurt or other fruit.Jam and marmalade. Hot was not good. Toast was put in middle of table, either burnt or just warmed bread. Evening meals were very poor. Small portion of undercooked veg. Example was 2 green beans. Evening meal was ordered in the morning for our numbered table but staff were wandering up and down asking what you ordered. The room 15 was small with very small bathroom and no hot water for our 3 out of 5 days The old sash windows were hard to open and could damage your fingers when closing. Small wardrobe with few hang and couldn’t open the door fully Reception staff were good. Wouldnt recommend or go again

Booked one night stay for myself, my partner and 3 year old son. Our room was a lovely size with a single and double bed, the room also included a very big bathroom which included a bath with a shower. Big flat screen smart tv with apps such as YouTube, Netflix etc which was perfect for us having our 3 year old son with us. The receptionist on arrival was lovely and very welcoming. Perfect distance from Loch Lomond, only a 15/20 min drive away. We didn’t dine in the evening at the hotel but did attend breakfast. Breakfast was good, we chose to have a bacon roll each along with a pot of coffee and there was unlimited apple and orange juice. There was hot breakfast food and plenty choice of fruit, cereal, porridge, yoghurt etc and we were also given a rack of toast. When entering our room it felt very stuffy despite the room windows being open but not the bathroom window. I brushed passed the radiator and it was hot (not sure why as it was early September and still 17/18 degrees) so anyway, I turned it off and managed to open the bathroom window to try and cool the room down. The windows are in need of a very good clean, covered in dust and spiders webs. The room was relatively clean, however did notice dust on the fronts of the bedside tables and inside the drawers of the dressing table. The bathroom is in need of upgrading, the seal along the bottom of the glass shower screen is covered in mould which put me off using the bath. We stayed on a Saturday night and very loud live music started at around 7pm and continued until midnight, then of course about 20-30 mins of people shouting in the street outside whilst leaving the pub. Of course, as stated before it was quite warm outside and with 3 people sleeping in the one room we had to have the windows open as it was too hot not to. The music seems to be from across the square at another premises but it is very very loud. My son and partner struggled to sleep and I didn’t get to sleep until well after midnight due to the noise. I understand this isn’t at the fault of the Winnock but it might be worth considering for anyone with young children or people heading off early morning and need a decent nights sleep. The mattresses are very hard and pillows are very soft so not a great mixture. I woke up several times in the night after eventually getting to sleep with a very sore back and neck. All in all, this could be a lovely hotel but a few things did ruin it for us which means we wouldn’t rebook in the future.

L'emplacement est très central pour visiter la région du Loch Lomond; il se situe sur une jolie pace de village très typique avec l'ambiance qui va avec! Il y a un pub-restaurant à côté (très très bien!), un spar, une boulangerie, des cafés, restaurants et glaciers mais tout reste accessible à pieds; cela reste un petit village! Le batiment est très beau et très typique également mais il est un peu vieillissant. Il y a un grand parking très pratique et j'ai remarqué un arrêt de bus devant l'hotel qui peut être appréciable pour les personnes non motorisée. La chambre était bien mais un peu vieillotte, la salle de bain également... mais c'était tout à fait convenable Le service au bar était très très lent... 50 min pour recevoir des mac & cheese et du haggis... Nous avons eu un problème de clé le deuxième jour, la porte ne s'ouvrait plus... j'ai interpellé une personne occupée au ménage qui n'était pas très coopérative... mais le problème a vite été réglé par un et une responsable.

Dall’esterno è davvero bellissimo, super caratteristico, con un giardino tenuto in perfetto ordine. Molto cordiale la ragazza della reception. La stanza era piccola, letto ad una piazza e mezzo (alla francese), poco spazio intorno ad esso per muoversi, anche perché c’era un tavolo, una poltrona sproporzionati rispetto alla misura della stanza. Ottimo il fatto che i caloriferi si sono attivati subito. La stanza si è scaldata velocemente e questo è fondamentale. Materasso comodo, lenzuola pulite, doppio cuscino, bollitore e the a disposizione. Bagno spazioso con doccia, acqua calda istantanea. Colazione fatta al merlin, la cameriera è stata un po’ sgarbata all inizio ma poi si è addolcita, possibilità di prendere qualcosa dal buffet (un po’ ridotto per il costo dell’albergo) senza piatti freschi ad eccezione di un po’ di salume, e il classico formaggio a fette, oltre che del porridge. Ci è piaciuto che abbiano servito the in abbondanza con il pane tostato caldo. Le uova al bacon erano buone. Per il costo della stanza potevano almeno includere la colazione, dal momento che la struttura è palesemente datata

Prima hotel, gastvrij, goede bedden lekker breed en goed matras. Geen lift aanwezig. Hygiëne had wat beter gekund in zowel de kamer als het restaurant. Eten was daarentegen oké zowel in het restaurant als in de bar

The hotel needs some serious improvements. The accessibility statement needs clearer and more detailed information, in particular explaining that rooms classed as ground floor rooms are not necessarily indoors. The reservation team need to be better trained in being aware of accessible needs. Neither in response to my email enquiry, nor in my telephone conversation when booking were facilities clearly explained. Our 'ground floor' room was outside down the road. The ramp down to the road had cracked and broken slabs, very difficult, and dangerous, to manage with a wheelchair (see photograph). The room was accessible only by crossing an area of small blocks/cobbles, many of which had lost their cement infill (see photograph). Crossing these was incredibly difficult, taking great care not to allow the wheels of the wheelchair to get stuck in the gaps There was then a large step into the building The room was small but adequate, with a tiny bathroom. After we entered an awful, extremely loud whine suddenly emanated from the bathroom ceiling (see video). Clearly some serious plumbing work needs to be carried out. The wifi signal in this room was extremely poor. The awful, lumpy mattress really needs replacing The wonderful reception staff changed us the next day to a much larger and more comfortable room. This had a full wifi signal. (We were prepared to forfeit what we had paid and look for alternative accomodation for the weekend). However, this is the first hotel we've ever used with no seat in the shower of what was meant to be accessible. Even a plastic seat, if not a fixed seat as is usually provided, would be better than none. I'm sure it is not good to attempt to shower sitting in a wheelchair, which would then still be wet after dressing. To reach the restaurant there was only one route, through a warren if corridors and finally through the Capercaille Hall - which provided meals for the coach parties. Here tables were set without a gap through for wheelchairs so each evening meal and each breakfast time two guests at two tables were disturbed during their meal to allow us through. A little thought by management could have easily prevented this. Meals were made up of a small choice of home cooked food which we enjoyed. However, be warned portions were very large ! I drank pints of the house bitter with my meals which was excellent - and certainly very reasonably priced. All the staff throughout the hotel were simply wonderful. They offered help in every way they could - particularly the two staff on reception when we arrived. All of them were so friendly, clearly enjoying their job. Concluding, we chose the hotel because of the description - providing ground floor rooms and two accessible rooms. This description really does need changing. We had also read details of their Christmas break which looked excellent and were hoping to book. Needless to say we will not be returning. The hotel is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility,

Decent hotel if a little worn breakfast was a complete rip off though, the staff were pleasant, attentive room was a little musty , The breakfast ruined the trip to be honest £40 for two adults and a child who just ate a bowl of cereal, The breakfast was a complete rip off

Another visit to this lovely hotel, stayed here now Five times Lovely clean room, huge bath towels and lovely hot shower Food as always fantastic, beutifully cooked and served..Every staff member helpful and happy.Michellia lovely person, asset to the hotel I am sure I will stay here again.
