Overall Hampton Inn&Suites is a good hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is good. I stayed in it on multiple occasions. However this time around I had terrible experience checking in. It always one person/employee who ruins companies reputation.
Anyway I arrived on Sunday at 2 PM. (I was able to check in before 3 PM on previous occasions) The front desk employee told me that my room is not ready and I should come back after 3 PM. I said "OK no problem I will come back at 3, please make sure my room is ready. When I came back at 3:10, the same lady told me that she needs to check with the cleaning personnel and disappeared for the next 15 minutes. I was still standing there when she reappeared and with no apology she started paying with the computer. Another 10 minutes passed and I finally asked "What's going on is there a problem?" (these were my exact words) This simple question trigger such an anger from the "hostess". She started screaming at me, something about new system (which is never true) and how I need to be patient. Another front desk employee heard the screaming and came out from the adjacent room. She introduced herself as a trainee. She apologies for the inconvenience right away and started calling the manager (she told me later that evening when I saw her). The manager came in about 1/2 hour and graciously told me that my room is not available and that he is giving me an upgrade.
