登比斯葡萄園飯店(Denbies Vineyard Hotel)

I booked the Denbies hotel/wine weekend for my husband's birthday and he was so looking forward to it. After booking the hotel and being assured everything was confirmed, I waited for the confirmation which never arrived, I then rang the hotel again and ask them to send the confirmation which they finally did. Almost a month an half later, the hotel rang me to tell me that they were cancelling my booking as they were double booked and suggested to book a local hotel outside of the vineyard with a much lower rating and it would have meant that I would have to get taxies etc to do any wine tasting etc,. They promised to send me details but of course I never received anything from them. I have booked alot of hotels over the years but never saw such chaos. It meant that the birthday surprise for my husband was ruined and it was too late and too expensive to book anything else similar. I am so disappointed with the experience of Denbies.

We used this as a base to attend the visit the AIG Ladies Golf Open event. We booked for 4 nights almost a year in advance so were somewhat surprised when we were allocated a disability access room. This meant that particularly in the bathroom things were set too low for us. We were also surprised that at this price point the room did not have a safe. On arrival, the car parking facilities were not obvious and initially it looked as if all the spots outside the hotel were full. We had a lovely evening on our first night sitting in the garden looking over the vineyard sipping a bottle of Surrey Gold, and the breakfast each day was delicious. On what was to be our last night we had been advised earlier in the day that there was going to be some plumbing maintenance done which was scheduled to be finished at 3:30pm. This was not a concern as we were not expecting to return from the golf until after that time. However, on our return at 4:30pm looking forward to showers to remove the sun cream and freshen up for the evening, the plumbing work had not been completed and there was no water at all anywhere in the hotel. The estimated completion time kept going back and back, and at 7pm the hotel staff admitted they did not know when it would be completed. The staff had given us a complimentary drink, but at this point we decided to ask for a refund for the final night's stay and set off for home. We arrived home around 1am, but at least we could finally have a shower. At the point of writing this review we have had no additional communication of any sort from the hotel which has surprised us.

I stayed for two nights. Check in was friendly and speedy, my room (room 7) was well appointed, the dinner I had on one evening was absoluely tremendous (service, wine (try the 2020 Chardonnay), food etc...), both breakfasts were really good (wide choice, good service, well presented and excellent quality), the car park was a little agricultural and check out was also efficient. All the staff, in all roles, were friendly and professional. I will go out of my way to stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. A super clean spacious room with lovely views over the vineyards. It’s not what I would consider luxury but it is smart and comfortable. The restaurant was great with more lovely views. We loved being able to walk straight out into the vineyards pre dinner and post breakfast. All in all, would highly recommend.

Beautiful property with vineyards, rolling hills and woodlands in a location designated as An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At the foot of Box Hill with footpaths throughout property and area. Beautiful hotel with excellent breakfast and dinner. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Just a lovely place!

I was booked into the twin as it was the last room available. Room advertises sockets next to the bed, but the sockets were inaccessible behind the really heavy bed which couldnt move away from the wall. Not ideal having plus sockets sticking into the back of the matress and pillows as its a hazard if they overheat. I was also given a broken iron for my ironing. Towels were very old and torn too. I have photos but problem uploading to this app.

Very nice place, lovely location and a lot of effort gone into making it a great experience. Having said that my room turned out to be in the main corridor for the Restaurant, I think the last guest left around 12.30am, I know this because there is no way anyone could sleep through all the noise. Why put accommodation next to the front door? Anyway, apart from that it is a lovely place, especially if you get a quiet room.

Hotel room was good although not worth £145. I spoke to hotel in the day to let them know I would arrive between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, I was told that was fine. I arrived at 9.10pm and didn't get into my room until 10.03pm as the reception was unstaffed. The rooms are nice but the hotels are shambolically organised.
