A very basic hotel with no correct information details on the site. The hotel manager is rude, and he doesn't know how to say no to the guests. He was too straightforward, and this attitude is not for the hospitality industry. Not even one local staff member was seen there. I had already paid 2400 for the executive room, thinking all the rooms have a mountain view as there is no information about room type in the site. I had put a msg requesting for the mountain view room as my partner had never seen a snow-capped mountain. Upto our disappointment, they showed us a dark and stuffy room where the view was another hotel's wall. Asked them for an upgrade, and the hotel manager told me to pay 1500, to which I asked if they could give a discount, and he abruptly said no.. it was around 8 pm that we reached and rooms were available. We upgraded for one night for their so-called premium room (mountain view) no diff in room at all.. except there was a window facing the mountain and bath tub in the bathroom with no valve. The linens were dirty. I didn't see any worth of paying 1500 extra for upgrade. I requested a refund for the 2nd day, which they refused, and trip.com gave me compensation points. The most annoying thing in all this was the hotel manager blaming expedia.com for not having the correct information on the site while I didn't even know trip.com is partnered up with expendia. He was blaming me, blaming ******* but except them. I asked if there was ac in the room for the heater, then he said.. they don't have ac in any hotels in darjeeling. I'm from Darjeeling, and he didn't look like he was from Darj, and I was asking about his hotel and not other hotels. To have this kind of hotel listed on trip.com would ruin the reputation of trip.com and not the hotel. Horrible experience.

The hotel staff was very friendly. The shower had hot water and the Wi-Fi worked in my room.

I am writing this as an Appreciation note to the wonderful staff of NRS Norling Retreat .The one Hotel I would cherish in my life. Although I never stayed there but my family friends did with whom we were on a vacation. Since, our hotels were not far, we went first to NRS Norling for their check -in. After the check-in process got completed, we asked the location of our hotel to the receptionist. To our surprise the receptionist of NRS Norling himself helped us with the luggage and guided us down the road to our hotel entrance. This kind of gesture is rare and unexpected. Since, my hotel was at the backside, down the hill to NRS Norling, these guys provided special access through a separate route to our friends to reach us easily. The staff always called and ensured that our friends have dinner, lunch or if they require any other service. They used keep hotel shutters up if they reached late at night unlike ours which had to be knocked to get opened. This hotel offers neat, comfortable rooms with heater and iron box. In January , they offered spacious rooms with clear view of Majestic Kanchenjunga at just 2K. Things which were not offered at our hotel at the same price. For the lovers of traditional Darjeeling stylE stays , this is a perfect experience. They have a beautiful restaurant which overlooks the valley and Mountains offering a sumptuous buffet at a very affordable price. We ditched food in our hotel’s pricy restaurant with an average taste at NRS Norling. Many services including Luggage assistance is offered by female staff which is rare in India and I really appreciate the management for its gender equality policy. Even the cab which they booked for us for sightseeing was amazing with a dedicated driver with the best rate available in Darjeeling. Its situated at a proximity of Mall Road and a little walk up hill does not matter when you are treated so well at this beautiful hotel. A person never forgets the way one is treated and how it feels. NRS Norling and its hardworking team will always hold a special place in my memories.

I recently stayed at Hotel Leaf , Siliguri and had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. I especially appreciated the quick room service and the variety of options in the breakfast buffet. The location was convenient and peaceful, making it easy to get around. Overall, it was a great value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would love to stay here again on my next visit. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

Great stay! we stay for a night, hotel building is old but rooms are good, staffs are good, location is light far near to the circuit house, this hotel is next to the Villa Everest, direct road to the mall, you can enjoy Kanchenjunga view while walking, if you book view room you can view Kanchenjunga from you bed also. There are no lift in the building for aged people it can be challenging, no idea of food as well took food outside, it is Darjeeling so meaningless to have food inside the room. Good budgeted hotel with Kanchenjunga hotel.

Hotel staffs are very courteous and well behaved, give a room with an excellent view of almost the whole city. Rooms are being cleaned everyday with complementary tea kits and mineral water bottles. The only cons about the stay is that the hotel is not 500MTRS but almost 1.5km from the Mall, so you need to walk this 1.5km daily twice if you want to avoid hotel food which is almost 1.5 times costlier than the same quality food available in the restaurants near Mall. remaining of the things in the hotel are quite good..
