格林村莊飯店(The Village Green)

Everything here screams 1950's. The grounds are very nice, I see why they have weddings every weekend. Our room, one of the "upgraded" king suites with garden patio was OK but was old and just functional. Some lights didn't work. Outlets were sometimes so old that plugs would just fall out without some help. The RV park was right across from our door and was questionable to say the least. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was minimal but what was there was good. Evidently this was a "go to" location years ago with tennis courts, 9 hole golf (now a lovely large garden) , pool and spa (still there) plus a good restaurant (also still there and still good) from a past time when some of those were desired options. The current owner, Moonstone Properties, has never made a profit here (after dumping around 6 million in the property) and has sold the property. The cost of upgrading is way high for any profit potential and I'm pretty sure the owner can't get financing. It will cease operation at the end of September 2021. Nobody there knew what the new owners have in mind but in the past a truck stop was contemplated (it's right off interstate 5). If this was a wedding venue down in So Cal (not counting the hotel part) it would be a gold mine. I'd like to able to buy some of the furnishings if they go on sale. Those high quality teak outdoor lounges and chairs aren't easy to find anymore (are $$$ if you do find them) and some of the lamps are cool.

Was given paper at checkin stating u had to leave sign on door b4 9am 4 housekeeping. Front desk told us no housekeeping because of COVID. Very frustrating & confusing as I expected clean room 2nd night

We received an email before arrival about contactless check in. I did not receive a text message the morning of arrival. When I pulled in the parking lot I called the office and she was baffled and said I had to come in and swipe my credit card that we could not do contactless check in. I went into the office and got our site # and we drove into the RV park.... When I called to make the reservation I asked it this park was filled with folks living there AND if a 40 ft motorhome would fit. I was told there were a few full timers and it was a nice park and a 40 ft motorhome would fit. Well, a 40 ft motorhome might fit in a site but would not be able to make the corners without scraping the sides of the motorhome with the trees. We had to back into the site as we weren't sure we could even make the corner if we tried and had to park towards the front of the site in order to get our tow car squeezed in behind us. This meant we couldn't hook up to sewer because it would have taken 30ft of hose to get to the uphill sewer drain. Once the 4 slides were put out we couldn't even maneuver around the picnic table without walking across the bench. Our neighbor had obviously been there for a LONG time. Many people coming and going at all hours as well as loud bass music all night. We were there to do some bike riding and had reservations for 2 nights. After our experience the first night, returning from our ride the next day and the continual traffic of visitors next door we were not comfortable with having $10K worth of bikes in plain sight even though locked up. We packed up and left. This was not an enjoyable experience and we will not be back.

The years have not been goodmtomthe Village Green. It was once the premier motel to stay at. Outdated, worn carpet and furniture. The suite was spacious however. If you book a room expect the the carpet to be worn, probably stained, and some furniture in poor condition. The room was clean which was the most important. The management is doing the best they can with an outdated, poorly maintained facility.
