What a great hotel, full of history, with a not to be missed museum and ancient convent next door. The Parador is a renovation of the sixteenth-century Monastery-Hospital of San Marcos for pilgrims walking the Camino Frances, and is one of the most important monuments of the Spanish Renaissance. Our room was in the renovated part overlooking the Plaza de San Marcos. It had a spectacular view, and was quiet, spacious, charming, and luxurious. The art in the common areas is impressive as are the exposed excavations of the ancient hospital and earlier dwellings. A great place to stay for a last night of comfort if you are planning on starting your Camino in Leon. It is located right on The Way with a monument to the pilgrim right out the front door.

Stayed for one night whilst travelling south. Easy enough to find, and convenient with its own parking garage, across the road from an El Corte Ingles, and just a few minutes walk from the city centre. The hotel was typical of the brand, which I like for its clean modern rooms and bathrooms.

Excelente atencion por parte de la responsable de recepción facilitando el acceso y ofreciendo opciones cuando llegamos con el niño enfermo El chiringuito una buena opción para picotear o cenar, raciones abundantes y ricas, y un servicio muy amable La piscina tiene buena pinta pero el viento frio no nos dejo disfrutarla Por mejorar quizás la limpieza debajo de las camas
