Not a safe area of town. My daughter and I wanted to use a hostel because no dorms available in the summer while we had to come to Columbus multiple times. The reviews and pictures make this location look clean and quaint. We were too afraid of the area to get out of our car. It seems close to campus but if you are not familiar with Columbus just one block makes a big difference. Just know what surrounding area is like before you book. I made the mistake of using a third party vendor non-refundable pay. The owner said in his message by text he would approve cancellation and refund money but ******* indicated he refused. Lesson learned. If you are a male or with a group it would probably be fine. We felt like it was misrepresented on the profile footprints, such as TripAdvisor and *******. I get charging for one night but to not refund the second night when he could have had another booking is just unkind.

I was given a code to get in the front door and my room. I didn't need them because I pushed on the door and it opened without resistance and I walked right in. I then worried that anyone off the street would walk right in. On the way out in the morning, someone was sleeping on the couch. Who knows where they came from.

The Wayfare Buckeye is truly one of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at so far. Robbie is so helpful and considerate. The advice he gave for things to do was totally on point. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food provided was delicious, and overall I felt nothing but safe while staying there. The showers, bathrooms, and the room itself was very clean. I loved that towels were provided, that’s sometimes rare for hostels. While I didn’t use a bike, the fact they were provided is super cool. The area itself is very walkable, there are plenty of bars nearby, and it’s only a 30 minute walk from OSU (20 from High St)! I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here 1 night and found the property manager very friendly and helpful. It is a clean place and the neighborhood seemed safe as well. We walked to a restaurant about 4 blocks away and had no problems. Our room was the owner's suite, a queen bed and our own room. We did share bathrooms, not utilizing the showers. Everybody who was staying there while we were there was friendly. We have stayed in hostels before and always rent our own private room, sometimes with our own bath. Great economical way to travel!

This is a hostel environment, so the general cleanliness is 95% dependent on the other guests. The management does a fine job of accommodating special requests and fulfilling needs of the guests.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wayfaring Buckeye! We were playing a show just around the corner at the Rumba Café, which was a whopping 4-minute walk from the hostel. So convenient! Parking in back, speedy wi-fi, clean and comfy beds, and plenty of shared bathrooms to go around. Also...there's a hot tub! Would definitely book again.

First time staying at a hostel. Check-in was easy: I was emailed the door codes earlier in the day as promised. Parking in the back was a bit tight but pretty convenient. When I booked the room I wasn't too sure about the "shared bathroom" situation but it wasn't really an issue once I was there. My room was next to the bathroom so I could hear when people went to the bathroom. It's understandable since this is just a house, not a hotel, but still kinda awkward. I think my only complain is that the water pressure in the shower was pretty weak...but I guess that's not the owners fault. I managed to take a shower which is what matters I guess, it just took me a while. The self-serve breakfast was convenient and the kitchen was well stocked with bagels, cream cheese, milk, cereals, oat meal and juice. The hot-tub seemed clean and warm but did not get the chance to go into it. It is a shame the shared bikes are not available "due to covid". The TV in the room came with Netflix and Amazon Prime which was pretty nice.

The Hostel was clean in a residential neighborhood within a mile from OSU campus. Parking in rear of units, just a little crowded. Breakfast was help yourself and was a well stocked help yourself. No complaints and well secured.
