Started our California vacation at the Calistoga Motor Lodge for three nights. We are big Hyatt people and try to use our points when we can to save on trips. The bad: 1. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 on weekends and not served at all on weekdays, which is nuts on two counts: globalists get breakfast and we were not offered any equivalent credit and also bad for out of town folks who maybe wake up early due to time change. 2. Housekeeping wasn’t every day, not sure if this was a mistake or not, and not communicated. 3. Only gave us two bath towels, at a resort? 4. Bathroom counters are tiny and essentially nowhere to put your toiletries. 5. They offer pour over coffee but not a keurig or a nespresso which on vacation is a nice convenience. 6. Charge a resort fee (globalists don’t pay on award stays) but there is no gym, no grounds really to speak of, just a pool and some yard games (and bikes that we never saw anyone use). This is not a resort, it’s a motor lodge. 7. Hotels need to stop doing the half shower glass door. 8. This is not a Cat 6, Hyatt. The Good: 1. Restaurant surprisingly good, pizzas excellent. 2. Welcome drink 3. Location right off the Silverado trail and a nice walk in the mornings into town 4. Hot tub/pools after a long wine tasting day 5. Friendly service Ultimately, this is a perfectly acceptable hotel but Hyatt and management have some things to think about. This hotel is not worth either cat 6 points or some of the egregious peak season pricing. But it could be excellent if they address some of the challenges.
My first time staying at the Calistoga Inn and I was extremely impressed with the property and attention to details. If you are used to staying at large corporate hotels (Hilton, Marriott) this hotel is kind of the opposite of that but in the best way possible. (Metal keys, no TV) This hotel has an amazing charm and feel. You instantly are transported into the vibe of the small town and feel like a local. The rooms are very well kept and clean. The bathrooms down the hall must be cleaned around the clock, each time I used them they were freshly cleaned. The restaurant and bar is right downstairs and have an awesome outdoor patio with great food. My girlfriend had the paella and it was delicious. I had the pork chop and it was equally good. You cannot beat the convenience and charm of this small inn. Especially post covid times, support small and local. You will not be disappointed.
訪訪客用戶My husband and I experience the WORST stay of our lives here. What’s worse is the owners’ refusal to make anything right. Soon after we arrived and were hoping to relax next to the fire, a noxious odor began to infiltrate the cottage. We contacted the innkeeper, who came in and immediately agreed that there was a bad odor coming from the fireplace. She suggested changing to another cottage, which emitted the same noxious odor as the first cottage we were staying in. She said the fireplaces had recently been serviced. We think some harsh chemical was used to clean or service them. The innkeeper suggested that we spend our vacation time finding a cottage that didn’t have a smell, while she attended to other things. That should have been her responsibility. We ended up having leave the windows open all night along in December! We contacted the inn after our stay and they said they acknowledged that there was a foul smelling odor, but said “It's our sincere hope that our offer of a different cottage and the complementary wine will demonstrate our dedication to ensuring your future experiences with us are delightful and stress-free, in line with the visits you've had in the past.” They offered us a cheap bottle of wine to compensate for a cold, stressful, toxic night. The offer for a “different cottage” was no offer at all: we tried another cottage and it was just as foul smelling due to the fireplaces being serviced. And the innkeeper did not assist us with finding another cottage because she was too busy. This place used to be beloved to us. This experience has caused us to do further research in the Cottage Grove Inn business to see if we were not the only ones who has experienced this. We read reviews on various sites. Several guests have left negative reviews recently. Some of these complaints are very alarming, such as non-compliance with ADA rules, faulty smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that required a 911 call and a visit from the fire department, fraudulent credit card charges, poor management, customers feeling they were treated rudely by the manager, and an extreme decline in quality in the last year, charging more and offering less. It appears this business has undergone a change in ownership in the last few years, being purchased from its longtime owners. As returning and longtime customers, we (myself and my husband) feel that we have been disrespected and treated poorly. We hoped that we would be treated with more respect with an offer for a resolution due to this incident. We are reporting this Inn and its owners to the Department of Consumer Affairs and the California Department of Public Health. For your own health and well-being, we advise to stay away from Cottage Grove Inn.
BBONNIE TLarge room; clean; comfortable beds and linens; beautifully landscaped pool area. Excellent service. Breakfast choices were well balanced nutritionally and varietal. Quiet. My guess is that it is one of the newer hotels and still well maintained.
FFadilAl-BakariThis Resort facility location is excellent very close to all of the desirable activities in town. The resort itself is very attractive and comfortable providing top of the line amenities. I plan to revisit often.
