Pros: New property, friendly staff, comfortable and quiet guest rooms, no problems to speak of. Cons: Immediate area doesn't have much to offer in the way of shopping and restaurants. In any year I spend upwards of 120 nights in hotels so for me to find one that doesn't stress me in any way is difficult. I am happy to say my stay at this new Holiday inn property didn't cause me any headaches or stress. It was easy and effortless from check-in to check-out. My room was spacious and included both a work desk and chair/table so I didn't have to watch TV while lying in bed in a weird position. The shower had decent water pressure, I didn't hear any guests in adjacent rooms, and I didn't have to hack the thermostat to get the room to a comfortably cool temperature. There was always parking available not too far from the door, every front desk employee was friendly, and the ice water in the lobby was always full- and welcome because of the warm weather. Although no fault of the hotel, the immediate area doesn't have much to offer aside from the Worlds of Fun theme park. There is a Wendy's, Burger King, Waffle House, Taco Bell, and QuikTrip convenience store/gas station, but nothing in the way of sit-down restaurants, grocery stores, and other kinds of retail. For that, a short drive is required in either direction. This is one of the rare hotels for which I would not hesitate returning to for another stay. There is definite value in stress-less experiences.
They need better cleaning of rooms s and to make sure rooms set equipt with towels soap toilet paper and of course trash cans and smoking rooms definitely need ashtrays and their cleaning people need to use real cleaning supplies and sanitize their rooms appropriately
The worst experience I have ever had at a ******. I was treated unjust and will never return. My partner and I were playing the automated craps and it malfunctioned and we did not receive our payout, despite it malfunctioning a half hour prior and we did receive the payout at that time. The team were unsure what to and brought in Matt the manager, whom decided it was best to kick us off the ****** floor for complaining along with his security lead Cynthia. We are guests at the hotel and were told to go to our room, not even allowed to go smoke outside of the building as they had two security come outside to escort us in. Told I was intoxicated by Matt which clearly I am not as I am writing this now, an hour or so after the so called incident. Honestly, so bad. Don’t go! Matt is compensating for something much smaller. Will follow up with Boyd’s but will definitely never return to this property.
