Hotel is average for 1 night stay and value for money considering breakfast included in price and the location of the hotel from the high street. Lots of creaky noises in the room and hotel room like a maze with lots of entry /exit restrictions makes it an average stay inspite of the nice swimming pool and gym. Staff - very polite and helpful including the restaurant staff.

Karaktervol gebouw, ruime en mooie kamer. Voldoende plaats om te parkeren. Leuke extra is het zwembad en de fitness.

This is a beautiful old building with a very interesting history. If you enjoy staying in places with character, this is for you. Yes, the room was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower. Rachel, who served us with a lovely, substantial breakfast told us some of the history. It is easy to find, plenty of parking and walking distance to the village. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful old house with plenty of character also sporting a decent sized swimming pool and gym. In my room the plumbing was a bit too noisy both from the ensuite bathroom and from the general pipework around the building but the room was spacious, warm and clean. Breakfast in the ornate dining room was splendid and the food was delicious and plentiful. I would certainly recommend staying here if visiting Trowbridge.

The single bed had a mattress so soft my back was in agony. The shower stuck on a temperature to blister! Curtains off the rails and leaving gaps middle and ends! An awful hotel!!

It was quiet and do nice to be able to have a swim. Staff were very friendly. Cleanliness could do with improving though this will not put me off returning.

I had booked a ground floor room and was on 1st floor. 1970’s bathroom in need of renovation, and toilet seat broken. In urgent need of redecoration and bed very soft. Pillows were no support for neck. Shower was trickling and Luke warm. Breakfast very minimal choice.

There was no outside lights and when we arrived it was pitch black and pouring with rain. Even a light to show where the night entrance was, which was up a small flight of stairs, would have been helpful.
