We have stayed in Moreton Park Hotel for years when we could use the Pool of Lyon Keys Hotel. It came under new management years ago. Sadly the hotel has been on the market for a long time. Also a wonderful lady on her own cooks' breakfasts. Only for Lynne cooking the place would have closed and guests would have had to go across the car park to Dobbie's cafe/ restaurant. She is excellent and appreciated. Every time we stay we have had a high standard of cleanliness. The bed sheets are prestige Always got water, showers are very powerful. Reception staff are on replaceable. Always friendly and obliging. Always give advice where to have evening meal. Eileen has been working as a receptionist since we started staying at hotel. Thank you very much to you all. appreciated all your hard work.

We have stayed here before in the past. it used to have a pub next door connected to the hotel it was always busy as a family pub it is now closed except for the hotel guests breakfast which I must say is lovely and cooked to order with continental selection to help yourself to the hotel is rundown now but clean with very comfortable beds we only stayed one night on our way to somewhere else the man on duty was very helpful went out of his way to get us all we asked for sorry can't remember his name. The strange thing is when I asked in the dinning room why the pub was closed I was told because they can't get the staff??? We went over the road to another pub and the staff there looked like there where to many staff running around?? They must be employing all the locals 🤣

We stayed here overnight as we were in the area for an event. First impressions are not great, with the signage upon entering the car park looking quite grotty and the adjoining pub permanently closed. However, the lady on reception was very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel itself is a little worn in places (though not horribly), a little bland, but spotlessly clean and pretty comfortable. We saw a large team cleaning the hotel very thoroughly the following morning, and their hard work is evident throughout the hotel. The rooms are comfortable (bed great, pillows not so good). Rooms are quite large, with a nice big tv. Overall, the staff are clearly working hard to make this hotel a pleasant place to stay. It’s great for an overnight stay. The road outside is quite busy but thanks to double glazing we weren’t particularly aware of it.

First impressions I could smell damp/mold as soon as we entered the room not a good start as I am both asthmatic and pregnant. You could see damp patches and peeling on some walls. Room itself spread over 2 floors very spacious but very outdated On a busy main road and it's 30 degrees so couldn't have the window open also another let down in the heat no fan or air con system so awful night sleep due to the heat Walls paper thin you can hear absolutely everything Shower well went freezing cold after 5 minutes for my partner then me so quick cold showers it was ! I would recommend getting an extractor fan for the bathroom as that is maybe what is causing the damp issue. Breakfast was lovely highly recommend that

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Spotlessly clean throughout. Spacious room - very comfortable bed & pillows. Amazing breakfast - plenty of cold food choice (cereals, fruit) and freshly cooked full English. We only stayed one night for a family get together in Chirk but would definately stay again. Highly recommend this hotel. Please bear in mind however that we had trouble getting taxis - long waiting time or couldn't get one at all!!!

What a brilliant find this hotel was, so close to Llangollen for our canal trip the next day. Our room was clean and spacious, little touches like biscuits with the tea tray and shower wash dispenser in the bathroom made it feel less like a budget hotel. All in all It was excellent value for money and we'll definitely be coming back here again.
