This could be a very good hotel--the rooms are quite nice and it's well located--but it's to be managed very poorly. First, there was limited elevator service because they "needed urgent repair work." In an 11-day stay I saw absolutely no sign of any work being done but one or more of the three elevators were out at all times. (There are two connected hotels which had elevators with crossovers, but directions to the Aloft from their banks weren't posted on the floor until I'd been there a week already.)
In addition, the hotel only provides housekeeping services on alternate days, which I would have been fine with if it had actually happened. Two nights before I left, they came while I was getting ready to leave and I asked them to return in an hour. They said they would and did not. The following morning, I went to the front desk, explained I'd been ghosted, gave them my room # and was assured it would be taken care of. When I returned that evening, of course it had not been. I complained the next morning to the front desk clerk who I'd spoken to he mumbled something about a new system they were using for guest requests.
Finally, the hotel restaurant is as poorly run as the hotel itself. I arrived one evening at 7:15 to a half-empty space, told the host that I'd like to just sit outside and have a pre-dinner drink. I put an order in for one about ten minutes later, and when it hadn't arrived by 20 minutes later I just gave up and left.
