Wow this hotel is great. Its pretty new and everything is up to polish. Booked here 1 night since on the map it seemed close to bus terminal but across the hiway aaaannnnd I was wrong. Hiways & alleys made it far to get to via taxi only to loop back but opp side. I love the comfy bed and pillows and the ample space of the room, its long benches and desks give many desirable options. A small balcony and window with cool views. The AC was perfect and the mini fridge a godsend. On site restaurant and dining and a seperate bar and bistro. It is very modern and fairly priced compared to BKK. The alley is deceptive as its very dark and lifeless however the trees block view because as soon as you walk approx 20mtrs out the gate you're hit with all local life and lights. Local food, stalls, little bars, cafes, bubble tea, toys, 7/11, everything you would find in a shopping mall. We used google translator in local eating spaces for menu translation, godsend. Note, there is no english in any stall we visited and we still managed just fine. Japanese fish seller spoke little English and certainly gave me a taste of home with his whole grilled fish with rosemary and oregano sauce and a fresh sald of whole fancy lettuce leaves, mint plant, coriander stems, salt 6NZD incl tip. This dish was devine and deserves its own post to come. Ate at multiple places and had delicacies I've not tasted in BKK & they were amazing. The locals are extremely friendly once you get past the glaring stares and unfortunately I did not see another tourist at all in this area soaking up the vibe except in the hotel dining spaces, ahwell each to their own. Once we finish our 4 day trek we'll return here to this hotel to finish off our 12 days in the north. Great special on now of $22 NZD.
