I must say I was impressed with the welcome and morning company. Really nice place to stay. Breakfast was lovely. Coffee so quiet, lovely fire to, I stay in a lot of hotels and have done for over 15 years, so I changed over to a B&B for a change. It was ideal they were very accommodating if I needed anything rub the lamp and it was done. Lovely people lovely place to get your head down. The fire 🔥 perfect. If they had a mini log burner in the conservatory I would happily bring my wife with a bottle or two and spend the weekend if it was snowing even better and trust me the owners would try to accommodate. What would finish this off is a log burning wood barrel hot tub in the garden. Romantic weekend away for couples. Has so much to offer the garden is incredible. Fell in love with the property. But mind your head these properties do have some features from the past. But that’s what makes them special. Something human about this place, made me feel normal.

A lovely and quaint bed and breakfast run by an extremely welcoming couple. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. In a historic house, part of which is 400 years old with many historic features. Downstairs lounge with log fire for guests to enjoy. Plenty of parking and good nearby walks at the Five Pits trail.

Having stayed at ‘chain hotels’ during our road trip it was a breath of fresh air to stay at such a cozy and friendly B&B . From our Arrival Hilary and Graham were welcoming with a hot drink and a warm open fire. We were shown to our room which was full of character , we immediately knew we’d have a pleasant stay Hilary was very helpful in finding us somewhere for our evening meal which was a great choice. The next day we had breakfast which was outstanding , eggs Benedict for me and full English for my partner . It was served in the conservatory which looked over the beautiful Garden . I can highly recommend a stay Church Villa .

Lovely old property and a very warm welcome, in a lovely part of the world. I was visited Frasers Group Head Office over in Shirebrook but knew someone in Chesterfield and this was a great location for both. The welcome was super friendly with tea and a chat on arrival. Very well maintained property and super hospitality. Thanks.

This is an excellent B&B. Hilary and Graham went out of their way to provide excellent hospitality and did everything to make our stay as comfortable and effortless as possible. All of the meals were excellent, especially the full English breakfast. The rooms are comfortable for an old building. The lounge area was ideally suited for our 24 hour retreat. Easy access from the M1 and nice walks nearby.

From the moment we stepped through the front door, we knew we had made the right choice. Graham and Hilary welcomed us like an old friend, and treated us like a family member. A true home from home experience. The property is outstanding, with the most beautiful garden. We were offered the use of the fire pit, and we spent a very pleasant evening sat in the arbour, listening to the birds singing right up to when the sun went down. The breakfast is one of the best we've had, and my goodness the fresh bread is out of this world. They even supply a fridge for use by the guests, which came very handy for our evening in the garden! It made a pleasant change to have fresh milk available for use in the rooms, instead of UHT, which is kept in a small fridge just outside the bedroom door. Graham and Hilary have thought of everything to ensure our stay with them was perfect, and it was beyond perfect. We will definitely be back, never before have we experienced such a place. We booked this solely based on the photographs we had seen, and the fact it only has 3 rooms. Because of this, the attention to detail and personal touch we received from the hosts has been simply the best. Their personality can be seen throughout the house. A 5 star review does not seem enough, and how this is only a 3 star AA rating I do not know! One bit of advice, book with them direct on their website as you will get a better rate.

We arrived and Hilary greeted us at the door. Hilary and Graham make you feel very welcome. Church Villa is cozy and comfortable. We stayed for three nights and it was like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers. Breakfast was excellent. We are already planning our next stay.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast - stayed for one night while visiting the Chesterfield office. Great location, easy to get to and parking easy. House is lovely and room was amazing, it had everything you need. Bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Would revisit for sure
